Your submission at Articles for creation: Novel (company) (September 1)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by MaxnaCarta was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This company does not meet notability standards set out in NCORP. Insufficient coverage in multiple reliable sources independent of the subject.

Hey @MaxnaCarta, Thank you for reviewing my article, I will have a look at those help desks you have provided and see if I am able to improve my article. Evie.rr (talk) 11:34, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Graham87 I see you blocked this user for COI editing/spam - please see above, looks like the user is again trying to recreate the same article. MaxnaCarta (talk) 11:39, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @MaxnaCarta, to confirm I was banned for making edits to other articles - e.g Matthew Syed's page and Harsh Reality's page to mention - factually - that Novel produced those podcasts. In this case, I am making an an article about Novel, the company, itself - which I don't believe breaks any rules as I have declared on my profile that I work for Novel. It would be great to know if that is true? Evie.rr (talk) 11:44, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You technically have not violated any rules. However your work is contrary to the purpose of this project. We are not a place for your corporate promotion. While the article was written in a relatively neutral tone, it is still blatant corporate vanity. If you want a website, use Squarespace. Wikipedia is a project to document the sum of human knowledge. Subjects for inclusion need to be of an encyclopaedic standard which means being notable and worthy of notice. Here, we hold that to mean significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent, secondary sources. Articles written by someone with a conflict of interest often have significant issues. If your employer was truly notable, someone else will write an article. This all said, regardless of COI, I’d have approved the article if it had appropriate sourcing. It does not. I had a look on Google, and cannot locate anything. Please go and read up on what sort of sources you can use to substantiate an argument of notability. Read NCORP and read it well. This company is not notable enough to be included on Wikipedia. Please do not resubmit the article unless you can prove otherwise. Respectfully - this will be my last reply unless you show me the sources. I am not going to get in a back and forth with someone trying to create a vanity puff piece for their employer. It is not what Wikipedia is for. MaxnaCarta (talk) 11:54, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Bugging admins to unblock you from main is unlikely to work given you are still continuing to try and promote a company on Wikipedia and appear not to have learned from the previous block. MaxnaCarta (talk) 11:56, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I couldn't have said it better myself. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your company. By editing in the article namespace you crossed a fairly bright line on here; my block against you editing articles was to prevent you from doing that. Now that your draft on this company has been rejected, you should accept the decision and move on. Graham87 14:31, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MaxnaCarta Hi Max, Graham. Thank you both your guidance on how to make my article draft a valuable resource on Wikipedia. Since receiving your feedback I have worked on improving my article by seeking out feedback through the articles for creation help desk and taking on your guidance to reference 'significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent, secondary sources.' I have now added these sources to my article, which reference specific points made in the article and do not include press releases. I would greatly appreciate if you might be able to look over my draft again and access whether you think it is now in a place that is suitable for publishing? Thanks again for your support. Evie.rr (talk) 11:44, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Evie.rr No. You are subject to an indefinite block. If an administrator wants to approve your piece then that’s a matter for them. I’m here to build knowledge, not help a company with marketing. Please do not tag me again, I consider I have helped you enough and I want to aid editors here to build knowledge without fear or favour, not marketing. Thank you. MaxnaCarta (talk) 12:41, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your efficient but polite handling of my article drafts and requests for support, much appreciated @MaxnaCarta. Evie.rr (talk) 15:21, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

the edits I made we're objective and factually accurate as I was stating where appropriate that Novel produced podcasts of interest, e.g Matthew's and Harsh Reality: The Story of Miriam Rivera. Additionally, I have declared my affiliation with Novel (company). so I believe i have acted within Wikipedia's rules. Evie.rr (talk) 11:47, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Something being factually accurate does not mean that it is appropriate for inclusion on Wikipedia. While your willingness to disclose is appreciated, such a disclosure does not exempt you from Wikipedia's our rules regarding external links, advertising. I am declining this request. --Blablubbs (talk) 23:16, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
