All Music Guide[edit]

I've been on a long quest to find out allmusic.com's system for identifiers and I ran across a comment your bot made and I was hoping you would be able to help me out. Do you know of anyway of converting the ID they display for an album (for example R381637 for http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:olsqoayaiijn) to a URL that will link directly to that album every time. For example. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&AMG_Album=R381637 or something. That is just an example and obviously doesn't work, but I'm looking for something along those lines. Thanks. EyeRmonkey 23:56, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Update: I just found that if you put a 27 before the colon in the sql variable, you can link directly to an artist. For example, the identifier for The Offspring is 26810 (P26810 actually) and if you make a URL that is http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=27:26810 you can link directly to that artists page. Now I just need to find a way to do this with albums. I tried every number between 1 and 99 behind the colon, and none of them brought me directly to an album page given only the ID. Any ideas? Hi there. I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine as regards the format of the sql variable in the AllMusic URLs. All I really know is the stuff that I mentioned on my bot's talk page. Good luck though. Cheers, Cmdrjameson 15:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Open directory project[edit]

Hi, I saw in your edit summary to The Offspring that said "removed useless link to 'open directory project'". I'm the one that added the link because everybody continued to add fan-sites to the external links. I figured that linking to that will keep all those sites away from Wikipedia and it would keep the external links much shorter. I do not feel it is pointless. There are many of pages that link to the open directory project.[1] It compiles many links over the internet about the subject. It's like a giant external links list. Please respond here.++aviper2k7++ 03:45, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
