Notability of Ashwani mahajan[edit]

The article Ashwani mahajan has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for this specific type of article, you may want to check out our criterion for biographies. JohnCD (talk) 09:50, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • As reviewing administrator, I agree that the article was not promotional, but it looked like a social-networking page, with contact details, rather than an encyclopedia article about Mr Mahajan, and it did not explain why he was significant or important enough to have an article. If you want to try again, I suggest you use the WP:Article wizard to guide you through the process, but first read WP:Your first article and WP:Notability (people), noting particularly the need for references to reliable sources to verify what the article says.
