Ok, can we settle the feud in the overclocking article in a civil fashion? We can both keep reverting till the cows come home, or we can come to a compromise. I won't bite, my talk page is open: P. --CoolFox 22:52, September 2, 2005 (UTC)

Overclocking[edit]

Actually, instead of a compromise, I've got a good Idea. Instead of citing Google searches, could you instead cite particular web pages? THAT would be beneficial to the article. Thanks. --CoolFox 22:58, September 2, 2005 (UTC)

sure[edit]

We have so many records I tried to sum them up in one link.

Futuremark database has nearly 3 million entries, it is a common overclocker benchmark.

XR is my database, stolen last year and it is a duplicate copy of my data on XS(except that is a year out of date and has like 3 people online. Go check birthdays or any thread pre 4/22/04

Give a link to the most recent/most notable one, or heck, write a Wikipeida article that curtails notable overclockers (including yourself) of these achivements, and give a wiki-link to that. Just make sure its professional. --CoolFox 23:31, September 2, 2005 (UTC)

Overclocking[edit]

Feel free to bring possible mistakes to my attention, but please make sure that I actually made the edits. I have made only two recent edits to Overclocking, removing all of the forums. 1 and 2. Also, please read what Wikipedia is not. If a site is notable for some reason, then it belongs in the EL. If it is a source for a claim, it should be listed, but as a reference. A site that adds good info to the article is much more important than a listing of 5-6 generic websites that were listed previously. There has also been some discussion on Talk:Overclocking about the EL, but only 3 people (including me) have even commented. We have all basically agreed that a bunch of forums don't belong there, but feel free to express your opinion. The links to the benchmark databases probably also don't belong there, or at the very least should be reduced. There is Benchmark (computing) for that.

I also don't see why you feel that need to attack me. When have I ever said anything bad about XS? In our previous discussions, you have always acted like I am out to get XS and that simply isn't the case. Just because I visit the site very rarely and do my best to remove the link spam from Overclocking doesn't mean that I have a problem with your website.

The site owner claiming that "XS is one of the top overclocking resources on the net." is extremely biased. It isn't like I am trying exclude XS, I am only trying to keep Wikipedia free of linkspam. Please assume good faith before attacking me and making assumptions.
