El Dorado

Hi Fadesga, I see you added El Dorado in the villages of Canelones. I do not find it in the INE map (zona 1) and also in es:El Dorado (Uruguay) I see that municipio 18 de mayo contains several more names that we do not have as villages. So the question is, are these really names of villages or are they names of zones/districts of the municipio? Hoverfish Talk 15:40, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of CX 42 Emisora Ciudad de Montevideo

Hello Fadesga,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged CX 42 Emisora Ciudad de Montevideo for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, AlexB531 (talk) 01:24, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Why Template:Universalism-bio-stub?

I see you created {{Universalism-bio-stub}} and substituted it for {{Universalism-stub}} on the Universalist related biography subs. I do not see why we also need a more narrowly focused Universalist stub template wen we already have a more broad Universalism related stub template. Your actions I believe, if my calculations are correct have left only 4 stubs to be utilizing the {{Universalism-stub}} at this moment in time. I would appreciate hearing from you an this. --Devin Murphy (talk) 03:37, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me. Your reasoning seems logical, but it conflicts with this; proposal for creation of Category:Universalism stubs. I initiated this proposal before you created your new stub. I would love to hear your thoughts on this proposal. --Devin Murphy (talk) 21:21, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Article structure

Since you are changing the structure of articles on places in Uruguay, it seems to be the right time to discuss about the way to go about it so we can coordinate better. I am aware that the intro of most places included the geographic placement. This is not right per MOS as the lead should not contain information that is not expanded in the rest of the article. I agree that geographic placement should be moved to its own section, though not under the subtitle "overview". I say this because the lead itself is supposed to be the overview, and also the lead is supposed to summarize the whole article like a stand alone section. We shouldn't leave a bare definition sentence as the lead. This is why I have left some more information there in short articles. There are some basic versions of Wikipedia where articles are only presented by their lead section. So while it is correct to separate the geographic placement from the lead, we should at the same time see to it that what is left at the lead is somewhat more descriptive. Any suggestions? Hoverfish Talk 01:23, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

In longer stubs and class start articles it is relatively easy to form a proper lead section by summarizing the information of all the other sections. In short stubs however, this would look needlessly repetitive if not silly. This is why I suggest to leave the placement temporarily in the lead of short stubs, if it's OK with you too. Meanwhile I will try to think of a standard way to formulate the lead in most stubs, even at the cost of some repetition. Hoverfish Talk 01:56, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi again, I have gone through all populated places in Uruguay and have created a section for Location right after the lead, but I have also placed all Landmarks, Places of worship, etc, after Population and before Government and Notable People. If you agree let's keep this structure consistent in all populated places. Thanks. Hoverfish Talk 01:29, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
