Your request at redirect creation[edit]

I noticed your request at WP:AFC/R. If I understand you correctly, you would like to have your user page, which is currently an article draft, into the main article space under the title GPSports Systems? I can help you with that (or you can soon do it yourself), but there are a few caveats. You can move the page yourself if you are an "autoconfirmed" user, that is, if your account is more than four days old and has made at least ten edits. The page move function is hidden in a pop-down menu next to the "Read", "Edit", and "View history" buttons along the article's top. The caveats:

  • If the page is moved, the talk page (this one) is moved along. Furthermore, a redirect is created, pointing from your user page to its new location. You wouldn't want to have your talk page moved; it's probably easier to do a copy&paste "move". (Doing so is usually frowned upon because doing so destroys the article's history, which may even cause problems with the license Wikipedia operates under because individual contributions can no longer be identified. In this case the article was written entirely by you, so that's not much of a problem.)
  • The article currently is written like an advertisement, and it presents no reliable sources. The latter are important both to allow readers to verify the article's content and to establish notability; if no such sources are presented the article may soon be nominated for deletion. "Reading like an advertisement" may even be grounds for speedy deletion.

My advice would be to create a subpage of your user page, say, User:Fatch1965/Drafts or something like that (my own sandbox is at User:Huon/Test, for example), to prepare the article draft there, and when it is sufficiently sourced, to move it from there to the mainspace. Hello, Fatch1965. You have new messages at Huon's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
I have made a first attempt at improving the article draft. There is still much to do. First of all, the article needs reliable secondary sources. Currently the lack of sources alone makes it unsuitable for Wikipedia. I hope you know where such sources can be found; a Google News search turned up nothing - not quite a promising sign. Next, the article has surprisingly little information on the company itself: Hom many employees does it have, what was its latest revenue and/or profit, who's the CEO? Please have a look at {{Infobox company}} for the type of information usually provided. And while I cut some of the worst examples, the article still sounds more like a promotion than an encyclopedia article. It still needs to be edited for a more neutral tone. Finally, GPSports won the "ACT Small Business Exporters Award" twice. This award might arguably be the company's best shot at meeting our notability guidelines (see WP:CORP), but a Google search for the award came up with just these Wikipedia pages. Is "ACT" the Australian Capital Territory? (I assume it's not the Australian College of Theology, but ACT has many possible meanings.) Can you provide additional information on these awards? In what years exactly did GPSports win? Yours, Huon (talk) 01:32, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Fatch1965, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Peacock (talk) 14:00, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
