Welcome![edit]

Hello, Figgy puddin, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Sarah Abbott[edit]

Minor revisions necessary.

  • This is a great start.
  • Because this is a new article, I recommend finding additional high-quality sources to ensure that the page will not be deleted. Try not to use her bio at U Regina at all.
  • Refer to her as "Abbott" throughout, not "Sarah."
  • Add an awards section and list all the awards she and her films have won.
  • Revise the lead paragraph to start with the things that make Abbott notable, but avoid promotional language.
  • Cut anything that sounds remotely promotional, such as the following sentences: "Sarah’s contribution to her academic community is a more hands-on learning experience for her film students. The students are now able to obtain real-life film experience on film sets with qualified film-workers."
  • Go ahead and move your draft to mainspace once you have fixed the above issues; you will also need to add more content in order to meet the 500 word minimum for this assignment.

  • Hi! I agree with Chronophoto - I also would recommend that you add more sourcing to the article that is both independent and reliable. This can be something like an academic or scholarly article about her or her work, a news article about her, or a review of her work in a reliable source. This needs a bit more coverage to really help establish notability and back up claims, as the coverage is a bit light and a lot of it is primary.
