Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:41, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I saw on your user page that you've declared that this account "is maintained by Rep. Dale Folwell's legislative office" in order to "maintain his page on Wikipedia". Per our policies, it isn't allowed for multiple people to share an account as a "role account". Each account must represent and be used by a single person. If there are multiple people from Rep. Folwell's legislative office who want to contribute to Wikipedia, that is perfectly fine, however each person must create a unique account. Also, the name of this account suggests that it is meant to represent an organization which is also against our policies, though you can request a new username to resolve that issue.

I will, however, commend you for disclosing your connection to the office and Rep. Folwell. That openness about a potential conflict of interest helps reassure the community about your good intentions and relaxes some suspicions that people might otherwise have about your edits, particularly to Rep. Folwell's article. If the people from your office create their own accounts, then I strongly encourage them to have the same openness.

I will be watching this talk page, so you can comment here to reply to me. If I don't hear a response relatively soon, however, I may be forced to block this account in order to enforce our policies. Thank you. -- Atama 19:26, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to "Sharing Account"[edit]

Only one person in Rep. Folwell's office accesses the Wikipedia page. Wikipedia will address this username according to its policies.

The username is based on legislative titles. Folwell being Rep. Folwell's last name, and la being an abbreviation for legislative assistant. I don't think the intention was for it to represent any organization, rather to represent the person working as Rep. Folwell's Legislative Assistant.

I'm not sure how else to address your concerns. I can alert the rest of his staff to create their own usernames, if they have an interest in updating his wikipedia page.

I want to be totally clear. Rep. Folwell welcomes the open and complete contribution to his page. He also understands the concerns other users had with the content and format of the page and welcomes any future editing from the Wikipedia community.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I don't check the account frequently.
