Transfermarkt[edit]

Since most of its content is user-generated, Transfermarkt is not a a reliable source. (See this RSN discussion.) Please do not cite the website in articles, as you did with Konstantinos Mavropanos. Sir Sputnik (talk) 13:36, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The important distinction between how these two websites handle user submissions is administrative oversight. Soccerway reviews user submitted corrections with sufficient scrutiny to prevent abuse; Transfermarkt does not. There was an incident a few years ago where an editor was able to add fake statistics to Transfermarkt for the purpose of later adding them to Wikipedia. Any source where this is possible is unreliable and should not be cited. As for a potential error here, absent a reliable source saying otherwise, Soccerway is what we have to go with. verifiability not truth is the standard for inclusion in the 'pedia. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:02, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If there are more sources, please do cite them. Language isn't an issue. Non-English sources are perfectly acceptable. YouTube, on the other hand, generally isn't, because it's self-published, unless the uploader is themselves a reliable source. Sir Sputnik (talk) 05:18, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GiantSnowman He came in Giannina in 13 February 1972.3 players from Argentina were transfered at this time.In the summer of 1972 3 more players transfered from Argentina. They created a great team then.I am supporter of PAS Giannina and i know the history of my team.Unfortunately many sources are wrong because of wiki. Also Atlanta is wrong.Perhaps he played there for a while but he mentioned that he played on Platense and Club Comunicaciones.Perhaps he played in Atlanta as youth but not sure about that.I will try to find a source about 1972 but in greek.Faria, the coach of PAS Giannina, was responsible for the transfer. He was manager of the club at 71-72 and 72-73.Do the maths. He cant bring players when he left the club.He was created the great team (Ajax of Epirus) then with the players from Argentina. --Fon7 (talk) 16:31, 21 December 2018 (UTC) .[reply]

Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information. The 'National Football Teams' website states that he was with Atlanta in 1972. If you say he transferred to Giannina in February 1972 that is fine; but which club was he with in January 1972? if Atlanta, then the years in the infobox should be '1971–1972' for Atlanta. Rather than making edits, I suggest we discuss further on the article talk page. GiantSnowman 10:09, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

PAS Giannina F.C.[edit]

Hi there - if editors continue to vandalise, then revert them, warn them, and report them at WP:AIV. If multiple editors do it then you can request page protection at WP:RFPP. I'll also be around to help! However there is not enough recent disruption to justify blocks or page protection at this stage. GiantSnowman 16:18, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You can deal with (and talk to/warn) IP addresses just as you can a named account. GiantSnowman 18:42, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019–20 PAS Giannina F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Arta (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Unexplained revertions[edit]

Your recent revertions on the page of Ioannina such as the page about the attack of 1830 or the notable footballers show that you are removing information without no reason , you cannot remove things because u don't like them unless u have a actual reason. Wikipedia is not a child park for you to remove things because they don't suit your wishes. Various Bilius (talk) 21:21, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Various Bilius The footballers are not notable. There are many athletes from Ioannina who they are notable. You cant add everyone who was born in Ioannina. That's not th purpose. Also you change the person when they are on a timeline. What about attack? You can write about this on the page about this situation but no one refers to it in the page.Massacre of the Albanian Beys. Also Wikipedia is not a child park for you to add things because they suit your wishes. --Fon7 (talk) 18:32, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Preveza-Lefkada Football Clubs Association, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. IMO an edge case regarding wp:notability but I'm marking it as reviewed. Near "stats-only" article is a symptom of this. Suggest finding references that cover it in depth and developing more prose content from those. Happy editing!
