Request reason:

I'll go point by point: Firstly, on the subject of the French language being the official language of the Vatican 🇻🇦, the information is useful and sourced by Vatican News , an official channel of the Pontifical State. This confirms my point that French is one of the Vatican's official languages, and that it is used primarily for diplomatic purposes (while retaining its status as an official language, I might add). I recognize, however, that I shouldn't have submitted my modification without first explaining it to the other Internet users, and apologize for that. Secondly, on the subject of Miss France, the Miss France 2018 and 2023 elections were held at the M.A.CH 36 venue in Déols and not in Châteauroux, as stated on the official M.A.CH 36 website ([1]https://www.mach36.fr/la-salle/) so we specify "north of Châteauroux" to make it easier for web surfers to find their way around, but the name Déols must come first in the introduction and infobox: we must give Caesar what belongs to Caesar! As far as the presenters are concerned, many media outlets refer to Thierry Baumann as the host of the Miss France election. I have cited numerous sources, including this one: [2]https://www.voici.fr/news-people/miss-france-2019-qui-est-thierry-baumann-lanimateur-des-votes-au-cote-de-jean-pierre-foucault-653920 .Despite numerous examples of the media referring to Thierry Baumann as an election moderator, my modifications are systematically cancelled without any valid explanation. So instead of cancelling my modifications, explain to me the difference you make between presenter and host? Because I don't see the nuance between the two in the case of the ceremony. And could you also explain to me @Jeppiz, @Doug Weller, @Ohnoitsjamie , @Moalli, why, for Miss France 2013, 2014 and 2016, Sylvie Tellier doesn't appear as a presenter in the info box when she's marked presenter in the info box? It's time to be logical ... France-Pt9301 (talk) 12:54, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you using a translator program to write? 331dot (talk) 13:25, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(1) As multiple editors have told you, you have insufficient sourcing to support the notion that French is an official language of Vatican City in the same sense as Italian; rather, it is one of many languages spoken there or used for specific purposes. (2) None of the sources you've added support that idea that Baumann is a presenter; as has already been explained to you multiple times, he's a "host", which is not the same thing. This is clearly WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT territory, and if you continue after this block expires, your next block is likely to be indefinite. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:14, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@331dotYes, I'm not fluent in English and use a rather weak translation site (Deepl) to write. But why do you ask ? And @Ohnoitsjamie , I quoted 3 different sources including an official channel of the Papal State to confirm my point and all 3 sources explicitly explain that French is an official language of the Vatican alongside Italian or Latin but that it is mainly used for diplomacy.
As far as Miss France is concerned, @Ohnoitsjamie explain to me the difference between host and presenter. And the difference between host and presenter? Because in French, the notion of host refers to a person who welcomes another person or an event. Thierry Baumann doesn't host it, but has been running it alongside Foucault and Fabre since 2023, reminding them of the voting instructions and sharing behind-the-scenes footage of the candidates' dressing rooms.
And as for the town of Déols, why doesn't Sylvie Tellier appear as the presenter of Miss France 2013, 2014 and 2016, even though she's mentioned as the presenter in the introduction? France-Pt9301 (talk) 17:33, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@OhnoitsjamieWhy put back Châteauroux when the town where the Miss France 2023 and Miss France 2018 elections were held is Déols, and why not put Déols to the north of Châteauroux as it is on the French Wikipedia? It would be more precise and at least the information would be true, because to say that these two elections took place in Châteauroux is a mistake. France-Pt9301 (talk) 17:35, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't care about the Deols/Châteauroux change. Châteauroux is sometimes used broadly to describe an area that includes Deols, but I'm fine with it being changed to Deols. As for the rest of it, I've already explained it too many times, and you may as well stop trying to ping me, as I've disabled notifications from you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:19, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jjj1238 Look at this part of the discussion and this source and you'll see that just putting Châteauroux is a mistake.

I noticed because some of the words were not quite right. If your English skills are such that you need a translator to communicate with us, you probably should limit your editing to the French Wikipedia. There is nothing special about the English Wikipedia, it is not better than others. 331dot (talk) 20:20, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@331dotI'm far from being an English speaker, I admit, and that's why I use Deepl. If I use the English Wikipedia, it's not because it's better (I've never said that, and it's not true because, like all versions of Wikipedia, it allows errors and unsourced information to pass through) but precisely because I see errors that need to be corrected or missing information that needs to be added. And @Ohnoitsjamie No, you haven't explained to me the difference between animator (and not host) and TV presenter, so I'd like you (or another user like @Jjj1238, for example) to explain this nuance to me so that I can understand why my modification seems wrong to you and could it be a potential error ? France-Pt9301 (talk) 20:41, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to get involved in this discussion, but since I was pinged, animateur does not translate to animator in English. An animator is someone who creates animation (so cartoons). Animateur should be translated as host/presenter, not animator, in English. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 21:05, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jjj1238Okay, I understand. In English classes in France, we're taught that animateur translates as "animator" and Deepl also used to say animator to refer to an animateur, so I thought that's how it was said. But in Thierry Baumann's case, can't we consider him an host/presenter ? Since he's hosting the evening alongside Jean-Pierre Foucault and Cindy Fabre, reminding people of the voting instructions, sharing behind-the-scenes information about the election, not to mention the fact that many media outlets consider him to be a host. France-Pt9301 (talk) 21:17, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know a small amount of French, but I would never attempt to edit the French Wikipedia, even with a translator. That is just my opinion. 331dot (talk) 21:19, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@331dotThese are not big changes with whole blocks of text, but short pieces of information. And there's nothing to stop me from contributing to the Wikipedia of other languages. 2A02:8440:3108:6C2A:44BB:1A92:6C01:C513 (talk) 21:29, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Remember to log in when posting. Again, if your language skills are such that you cannot communicate with us without the aid of a translator program- which are far from perfect- you should seriously rethink your participation here. A certain level of skill is required to participate here. 331dot (talk) 21:37, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@331dotAs for the connection, it's an oversight that happens to everyone. As for the language, I have a basic knowledge of English and the translator helps me. In any case, I reiterate, nothing prevents me from participating here 👈 France-Pt9301 (talk) 21:42, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm lost. Why tag me for some article on Miss France? I've never edited those articles nor interacted with them in any way. Sorry to be blunt, but everything both before and after the block suggests we are looking at serious case of WP:COMPETENCE. Jeppiz (talk) 19:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeppiz I wanted to join you and talk to you about the Vatican and the French language, so much for me. France-Pt9301 (talk) 20:32, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indef blocked for block evasion[edit]

Looking at the history of Miss France 2023, this is WP:DUCK block evasion. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:54, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ohnoitsjamie I did change the Miss France 2023 article from Châteauroux to Déols (which is geographically more correct than Châteauroux) but you said you didn't have a problem with that. Besides, I haven't tried to change it since. I apologize for this modification despite my block and ask you to unblock me after 72 hours (Thursday, November 9, 2023 ) as indicated in my 1st block. @Ohnoitsjamie @RickinBaltimore FYI they're attempting to appeal on my talk page on Commons. See c:Special:Diff/820712504 and c:Special:Diff/821436087. — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 18:26, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They appealed on fr.wiki as well on my page. I'm wondering if a global lock might be needed. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:35, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
