Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Chicago White Sox minor league players into Jacob May. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 19:16, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 17[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bobby Fenwick, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Japana. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Jaime Pedroza has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable minor league baseball player

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Categorisation by ethnicity[edit]

Regarding this edit to Darryl George, can I ask you to familiarise yourself with Wikipedia:Categorization/Ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality? In brief summary, such categorisations should not be made without reliable sources for them being provided in the article. Cordless Larry (talk) 06:58, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2014 MLB Japan All-Star Series, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Texas Rangers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Non-existent categories[edit]

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to James Albury, please make sure that the category page actually exists. In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's categorization guidelines, but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red. You may find it helpful to use the gadget HotCat, which tests whether a category exists before saving a change. Thank you. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 04:25, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Nicaragua national baseball team navigational boxes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Yudai Ono page edits[edit]

Thank you for your continuous contributions to Japanese baseball on wikipedia. It hasn't gone unnoticed. I'd like to however ask you why you deleted the year sections on Yūdai Ōno's page? It looks a lot more cluttered now. If there is a specific template you are a following, please share it with me. I have otherwise been creating other pages with this year-by-year approach as it makes information easy to access. I'd also like to add that your editing was somewhat haphazard as the international career section part doesn't make any sense as you've directly copy-pasted things out of context. Cynikles (talk) 04:25, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've now fiddled with the page a bit more so it looks cleaner. I've taken the example of Joe Mauer to have fewer year break-ups but still include them nonetheless. I've also removed the opening paragraph of Ono's national team contributions as I feel it added nothing to the information that was already there. Plus, it had "Yamada" written instead of "Ono."
