Why removed K D Singh

Why did you remove KD Singh since he is dead. Abhishek0831996 (talk) 18:27, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

@Abhishek0831996: Your source [1] for K D Singh doesn't mention Rajput. So remove it yourself or I'll do it ot or get a reliable source that says he is a Rajput explicitly. Teh source for Daulat Singh is British Era, which is not reliable per Wikipedia consensus. Get a post British era source, otherwise it will also get removed. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:35, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Do not remove them, I'll get the sources asap Abhishek0831996 (talk) 18:55, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
I've removed the above two per WP:OR policy and replaced with a better source for Pratap Singh of Idar entry, since it was also not supported by the source. Next time use reliable sources that explicitly mention the word "Rajput" before adding entries. Caste related articles are heavily scrutinized in Wikipedia, so you have to be very sure before adding or wait till you get a good source. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:02, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Crore

Please stop reverting figures that have been correctly changed to billions to figures in crore. As I have clearly explained in my edit summary WP:CRORE states "The Indian numbering system is conventionally used for certain things (especially monetary amounts) in South Asian English. This is discouraged in Wikipedia articles by WP:Manual of Style § Opportunities for commonality. - Arjayay (talk) 19:32, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

@Arjayay: I know that, but it seems like an IP proxy of an LTA doing mass changes to WP:STABLE, hence I was reverted per WP:BANREVERT. As for back to back reverts, something happening with the interface, it is jumbled at my end. I was clicking 'thanks', but 'rollback' was getting clicked everytime. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:39, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
@Arjayay: According to this consensus, "...consensus is to retain such terms in India-related articles, provided that either crore or lakh is to be linked at the first mention in the article...". I believe we should restore them. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:46, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Hi Fylindfotberserk, that RFC was over 5 years ago. I don't know if there have been any subsequent discussions, but, other than "that crore or lakh is to be linked at the first mention in the article", the rest of that RFC is not incorporated in the current official guidance; neither at MOS:CRORE "This [the use of crore] is discouraged in Wikipedia articles", nor MOS:COMMONALITY "ten million is preferable to one crore ". AFAIK the MOS takes precedence over the RFC, but I'm not going to start yet another discussion, so I'll let it drop.
I suspect that trying to get Indian film fans to stop using crore, would be as hard as your attempt to remove/restrict caste and ethnicity, but reducing the emphasis on caste and ethnicity in Wikipedia could have some real-life benefits. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 16:26, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Correction of Ror

In Ror clan you have written Jat,correct it because it is written in the source that these surnames are found in Jats also, not only in Jats, they are also found in Rors. Balwant Chopra (talk) 12:06, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

@Balwant Chopra: The sentence I framed meant that some of the surnames used by the Rors are also found among Jats. - "The Ror people are subdivided into various clans, some of which overlap with other groups, notably the Jats". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:39, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
This is Ghartan in clan, not Chartan, please fix it.

@Balwant Chopra:While I've seen the source that says "Ghartan", another source by the same author [2] says "Chartan". It is confusing. We can keep both - "Chartan/Ghartan" as an arrangement since both are sourced. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Yes, it is complicated but it is just a Ghartan because the Ror caste also writes Ghartan.

Done Using this, the new one you added was written by someone belongign to that caste so not WP:Independent. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:41, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Thanks,
Please add Chopra also
Source- [3] Balwant Chopra (talk) 11:48, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Balwant Chopra: It is a magazine mentioning someones name and him being a Ror. Combining multiple information to reach a conclusion is called WP:OR and is to be avoided. Find a book source, a WP:HISTRS, that explicitly mention Chopra to be a Ror clan/surname. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:57, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
This is not Sangwan, it has been misprinted. This is Sagwal who writes Ror Caste. Please fix it.

@Balwant Chopra:  Done . -Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:19, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
Please add Khasber

@Balwant Chopra: Do you have another source for Khasber and Gollen? As I mentioned above, books/journals written by person belonging to a certain caste are not considered WP:Independent and is possibly WP:SPS. Yesterday, I corrected Sangwan — Sagwal since there is another source mentioning a similar sounding surname, not to mention Raj Era sources. Please find WP:Independent and non WP:RAJ sources for Gollen, Khasber as well as Sagwal. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:19, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
