Dispute on Avatar episodes

I hope you don't mind, but I was in the process of creating an RfC for Talk:List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes when you posted your comment on its talk page, and I felt that your comment easily fit into the RfC discussion, so I merged it in. I'm not understanding how to do it then

I read the instructions that said if a user wants to make more user pages, the user can use a slash - variations of this [[/]]. I thought that was what I was doing and I don't understand how it ended up in the articles space, I was really surprised. Avatar Pairings

Hello. I just want to express something really quickly, I completely understand the idea of the Avatar pairings being specualation and I in no way want to raise your wikistress level. However, I was wondering, do you think it would be possible, or an okay idea to make an article dedicated to the Avatar pairings? I know that when I personally want to look up something, Wikipedia is typically my site to do it. Recently I had been talking to one of my friends and he had never heard of any of the pairings and I thought "Maybe it'd be a good idea make a page dedicated to it." But I mean this entirely out of an explanation of terms so that people could look up "Zutara" for example and be like "oh, so that's what it means." I don't know, just a thought. Reference to WP:OWN

I believe a reference to WP:OWN was an important part of the discussion, as recent comments by several people involved indicated a degree of possessiveness was a valid concern. Just the comments on the initial AfD brought that to my attention, and further comments increased that worry. If you think I am attacking you, I am not, I am merely seeking to apprise you of my concerns about the situation. Since I do not wish you to think I am accusing you, I will refrain from pointing out any specific words by yourself, or anyone else, and I am sorry if you feel accused or attacked. If you wish an examination of your words, I suggest seeking out a neutral, uninvolved person for that review, as I believe you have some irritation with me. Well, I understand the problem with immature editors, it is quite frustrating, however, that frustration is itself a good reason for caution. I think the words of many people (see above for easy example) are a clear concern, and are likely to lead to further trouble. That's why it's important to not take precipitous action, no matter how nettlesome or irritating it may be. And in cases where problems have developed (like this one), I think a little opening up of the minds is necessary. The fact is that some simple, non-offensive (if overly bold) acts of possible merit were made and reacted against so strongly that I feel a good bit of discussion is necessary. It would have been easy enough to politely respond with positive comments, but instead, it gets called BS, and calls for speedy removal as if the actions were some kind of vandalism. That's not a good idea and doesn't benefit Wikipedia at all. FrozenPurpleCube 04:38, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

This is getting old. I feel like we can't even do anything anymore without opening up some huge debate that requires outside opinion. You ever worked retail? I feel like a new boss has just come in and started critisizing us for everything we've done wrong and starts doing all sorts of radical changes. Avatar pages

As I said on the list page, I do think it would be best to avoid personalizing this issue. You, and some other people have problems with me. The above comment demonstrates the issue quite well. I have a problem with that, as it represents an attitude that is not helpful, but rather one of resentment and possessiveness. However, instead of focusing on that, since I doubt it will resolve anything, I feel it would be better to focus on the issues themselves and not personalize things. I do give you credit for focusing more than some other editors on the pages, and not just on the people. So perhaps we can agree to that? FrozenPurpleCube 20:27, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Closing AFD

No toe stepping that I saw! That's the only time I close AFD's too, when the article has already been deleted. Question

How do you protect a page... the code I mean ( For a historic event people are vandalizing..

I just think that some stuff that people are saying is just nonsence , I belive the that talk page is not a message board, also I just edit out some "Bad words", so if you see that some of the post are gone but it might be 1.Nonsence (fan talk , talking like it's a message board. 2. Offencive words 3. The bad is getting way too long, I'm getting rid of some of the early post's on the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl page , getting way toolong.

Episode review MFD

I've moved the episode review page out of the WikiProject namespace, and am trying a new idea where discussions would be only listed in one place (for tracking), but take place on List of episodes talk pages. incorrect edit

I wasn't the person who last edit the Avatar page, but their edit was not incorrect. I believe the person who did it was a Hindu. They refer to Vishnu as "God". The word avatar is mainly used to refer to Vishnu's ten reincarnations.
