On the Military of Kosovo[edit]

Hi GB-UK-BI. I think that creating this redirect was a mistake, and thus I have listed it for discussion, with the idea of deleting it. You can join the discussion at redirects for discussion, where I have explained the reasons why I think it should be deleted. - Best regards, Ev 15:00, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I apologize for my lack of attention with regard to the budget (US$/€). I had also removed the mention of its 5052 members because I didn't find anything in the source indicating that this was in fact the current number, and not that of 1999/2000. However, from what I've seen so far, apparently the number hasn't changed. I apologize for removing that too.

In any case, please, do not re-add the "military-style" infobox & {{Military of Europe}} template before we can reach a consensus for doing so at the article's talk page, for two reasons:

  1. To follow proper dispute resolution procedures.
  2. Because I believe that re-adding it would infringe our current verifiability & original research policies.

I'm sure we'll be able to reach an agreement there :-) Best regards, Ev 00:41, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:1142779.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1142779.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:05, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Gon4z[edit]

Welcome back - I'm surprised that you sourced some of your claims correctly this time (MBB Bo 105 at Albanian Air Force). But the claims you inserted at i.e. F-16 Fighting Falcon or at Agusta A129 Mangusta or at F-4 Phantom II are fabricated and thus totally unacceptable. --noclador 23:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

I have deleted 2 of the images that you uploaded, as you clearly took them from airliners.net. Of the two that are remaining, please provide the website source of them so that we can verify copyright issues. If you don't respond, these, too, will be deleted. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 23:59, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Only Image:Colr07-0014-022.jpg is from the link you provided and that does not give you the right to license it as if you were the copyright holder! You are not - this is the correct copyright holder and the license he demands be given to the image:
"Austrian Armed Forces (2007) Directorate of Press and Public Information/MoD. This image is cleared for release. Request credit be given as "Austrian Armed Forces Photograph". Please note, that it is forbidden to trade the image."
And Gon4z - stop re-uploading deleted images as i.e. Image:1244126.jpg and do not insert more made up claims like you did with Aero L-159 Alca --noclador 00:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
GB, unfortunately, all the images that you uploaded were improperly uploaded and licensed. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're not from the U.S., and therefore are not familiar with our copyright laws, and Wikipedias image policies. So, on that note, let me explain. U.S. law applies here, and all photographs are automatically assumed to be copyrighted, unless the photographer has released the images to the public domain, or has licensed them specifically to be used by others. Two of the images you uploaded came from airliners.net, and were not licensed to be freely used. The photographers retained copyright, and by uploading them to wikipedia, you violated that copyright, so the images have been removed. The other two images, from the Austrian sources, come with a news release license, but with a stipulation that limits their use. By uploading them, you didn't violate copyright laws, but Wikipedia has a policy that says we can't use images unless they can be reused by our readership for any purpose. The stipulation that "Please note, that it is forbidden to trade the image." makes these two images unusable on wikipedia. Unfortunately, there was an additional problem. You added a tag to these images saying that you were the photographer, and were releasing them to the public domain. That was dishonest, as you weren't the photograher. And because you weren't, you had no right to falsely release them. So, now that the situation has been explained, I hope you understand. I fully expect that you won't be doing this again, but you can consider this a formal warning. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 02:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
a) sources are not in English
b) Albanian Airforce site does NOT mention L-159
c) Czech Embassy site does list it as one of 36 various export items - along such things as WCs - but without any information about a specific Czech- Albanian deal about the L-159
d) the Albanian GDP you give is wrong (again!)
e) you inserted lots of unfounded things into F-16 Fighting Falcon or at Agusta A129 Mangusta or at F-4 Phantom II
f) you made this edits: edit 1 and edit 2 from your IP
g) you have like Gon4z a pattern of Albanian nationalist edits
h) you have like Gon4z a pattern of Anti Serbian edits
i) you blank your talkpage like Gon4z
j) you did the same edits to MIM as Gon4z socketpups user:77.99.161.6, user:Klass, user:Naco-Taco.
k) you show Gon4z pattern of not discussing your edits on the talkpages but in the edit summaries
l) you do not argue, but insult other users _ just like Gon4z
there are many other signs that you are a sock of Gon4z and therefore all edits will be triple checked and if your vandalism continues you will be blocked for the 11th or 12th time. --noclador 01:20, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Kosova HMMWV.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Kosova HMMWV.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:Kosova HMMWV.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. noclador (talk) 16:54, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
