February 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Boston Latin Academy—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. I do not think you understand what is going on here. I am the President of the GLS/BLA Association. KAREN MASTROBATTISTA CURRAN. I am the author of a book "Her Greatness Proclaim: The History of GLS". Many years ago I created a "Girls' Latin School" Page. Some one from Boston Latin Academy decided to take over the page, change a few sentences, and then redirect it as the Boston Latin Academy Page. If BLA wants their own page-that's fine. But DO NOT REDIRECT THE GIRLS' LATIN SCHOOL PAGE AND DO NOT PLAIGERIZE ITS CONTENT.I can prove the amount of content which was written by me. There is extensive copyright infringement on the BLA page. I have filed an arbitration claim as I have had it trying to get them to separate the page. Please expedite this matter as it has been going on for years without resolution. GLSpres (talk) 18:47, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If there are copyright violations then we need to take care of them. What is the source of the alleged infringement? Primefac (talk) 20:01, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
all I am asking is to restore GLS as its own page before it was hijacked. In 2014? 15? I created a Girls’ Latin School page for Wikipedia. Much of the content for that page I wrote. The source of that content is from my research for my book, “Her Greatness Proclaim, The History of Girls’ Latin School.”
Is there any way for you to pull up the old Girls’ Latin School page and see that I was the one that added this content? Again, no one had permission from me or the Girls’ Latin School/Boston Latin Academy Association to take this information and redirect the page to Boston Latin Academy. They took all of the content I wrote and hijacked the page. I can send you the exact copy from other things that I published.
This group we want to separate from and they do not want GLS to separate. We do not want to come up under BLA. We want to come up alone. GLSpres (talk) 20:51, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you check the source of all of the building description you will see http://blagls.org/main/page/history/C27
t
That page is owned by the GLS/BLA association. We did not give anyone permission to use it. I wrote all of that copy. GLSpres (talk) 21:04, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[10] see this footnote again, I wrote the content GLSpres (talk) 21:09, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See this page. I wrote it. It belongs to the GLS / BLA association. I am president. I did not give permission to use it.

I am not seeing any flagrant copyright violations. The may have used your site as a reference but that is not copyright infringement. No one needs your permission to use your work as a reference as long as they do not copy your words verbatim and it's not plagiarism if they properly cite the information. Can you give any examples of direct copyright violations, please? McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 21:20, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Girls' Latin School opened on West Newton Street in Boston's South End on February 12, 1878. The school had only thirty-seven pupils in three classes. The first thirty-seven students were divided according to aptitude into the Sixth, Fifth and Third classes. The six students in the first graduating class in 1880 were Alice M. Mills, Charlotte W. Rogers, Vida D. Scudder, Mary L. Mason, Alice S. Rollins and Miriam S. Witherspoon; all six were accepted to Smith College.
By the time GLS celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 1903, it had achieved the reputation as one of the finest college preparatory schools in the United States. The number of students continued to grow each year as a result of its academic achievements.
When the number of students exceeded 350 in 1898, the school committee moved the first four classes to a building in Copley Square vacated by the Chauncy Hall School, while the fifth and sixth remained in the old building. In 1907, Girls' Latin School moved into a brand new building, shared with the Normal School, located on Huntington Avenue in the Fenway. GLSpres (talk) 21:28, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Go to the page you will see the above paragraphs GLSpres (talk) 21:28, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Go to the link to the buildings page and you will see the exact verbiage. PLEASE delete all of this from the BLA page, undo the redirect and let it stand on the GLS page. GLSpres (talk) 21:31, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

here is the link to the building descriptions- which is almost verbatim. GLSpres (talk) 21:39, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote all of the content for the GLS/ BLA association web page. I then copied that content when I created the Wikipedia page “ Girls Latin School”. No one has the right to steal that page and steal the content. I want the redirect of the BLA page deleted and all of The GLS / BLA Association content returned to the GLS page. GLSpres (talk) 21:43, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Did you post it here first then built the website? McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 21:52, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We built the website first for the GLS / BLA Association. That website is copyrighted. Most of the content came directly from my book. The book is copyrighted. GLSpres (talk) 21:58, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want you to explain to me what legal right Wikipedia provides them to use 90% of material copyrighted and taken verbatim? The little note you just posted is not enough. Tell me step by step how to delete my stolen copyrighted material? Explain legally how I can delete their redirect? We are the alumnae of GLS and we want are own Wikipedia page. What is the legal process to do that? GLSpres (talk) 23:26, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not just one page it is several pages including “History”
“Buildings”
”Alumnae”
I am asking again, how do I delete their redirect and re-establish our own page? GLSpres (talk) 23:31, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have clear proof of extensive plagiarism in this article. The content is copyrighted by the GLS/BLA association. I am the president of that Association and I wrote all of that copy. I want the redirect deleted immediately or we will have to get attorneys involved. They broke the law. I am being treated like the criminal here by you blocking me. I have every right to correct their plagiarism. GLSpres (talk) 01:55, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
