Cal proposition 8[edit]

Good work on condensing and making sense of some of the overly long sections! I'm going to step away from Wikipedia for a few hours. When you're done you might want to take out all the sub-section heads I put in a day or two ago, because they're not needed anymore to organize things. Happy editing, Wikidemon (talk) 22:48, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw the edit you made on Prop 8, and appreciate the work you do fixing up articles. However, you may want to take note of a few rules of punctuation for Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Quotation_marks. In a nutshell, on Wikipedia, commas and periods do NOT always go inside quotation marks if they are not part of the actual quote. In the case of the Google quote they were, so it's perfectly fine. I even extended the quote slightly to make it a little better. Personally, I prefer putting commas and periods inside, but we should stick to the scientific wikistyle instead of typesetter's style. Keep up the good wiki-ing, and welcome! Matt White (talk) 02:12, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gavin Newsom[edit]

How is that image unnecessary? Wikipedia Image-Use policy dictates that if there is text about something, then an image is perfectly necessary. Gavin Newsom is (quoted from the text) one of the main opponents against Proposition 8. Additionally, if any image has a free license, there is almost no reason for an image's removal.

I've re-added it for now, since it shows a great deal of the rallies held by (at least) the No on Prop 8 campaign. I agree for neutrality a Yes on Prop 8 rally should be added, but I have could not find any freely licensed images. --haha169 (talk) 01:29, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Prop 8 Advocates.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Prop 8 Advocates.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Discrimination in US category on Prop 8[edit]

Hi. You removed the category "Discrimination in the US" from the article on Prop 8, and though I respect such an edit, I was wondering if you could provide a better reason than simply that none of the other similar articles have that category. Perhaps no one has bothered to add it. Presumably, I could just go and add the category to all of them. Anyways, thanks for your time. RobHar (talk) 06:53, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Yeson8YardSign.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 08:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
