Scoutinbg and Gangshows

I am still not convinced that the rivalry between Camberwell Showtime, and Whitehorse Showtime is important enough to be on wikipedia and the link you give is not an independent source. We need a source that shows that others have noticed the rivalry. It concerns me that almost all edits to articles like Scouting in Victoria for Australia and other countries where I have them on my watchlist like the UK, are all to the list of Gang Shows or the list of camp sites. Are these really the most encyclopedic material we have to present to the general public via wikipedia. What about the history or the real impact on the community outside Scouting. Anyway, take a look at all the material in the Scouting Project although there is rather a lot now after several years of work. Also maybe you can turn up at Melbourne wikimedia meetup or join Wikimedia Australia Inc, which has recently been formed. Potentiometer dimmer

Just to give you a fuller explanation of why I reverted your edit to potentiometer. First of all, most non-technical people would understand a dimmer circuit to be as used in your household lighting for which this is circuit is pretty comprehensively unsuitable. I could understand that is not what you meant by your use of the term Vcc but most people would not get it. But even allowing that, applications such as instrument backlighting do not usually use potentiometers because the circuit consumes way too much current; typically 10x the maximum load current. If a crude dimmer circuit is needed it would be more usual to use a series variable resistor. If you can reference the application to a reliable source then maybe it can go back in, but you need to also bear in mind the WP:NOTHOWTO policy.

A couple of by-the-ways: the entry should have been under the "Applications" sub-heading and section titles should only capitalise the first word according to MOS:CAPS. SpinningSpark 10:26, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
