A tag has been placed on User:Gdparkinson/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, Gdparkinson, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Laura Clacey (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 09:14, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cabayi (talk · contribs), most certainly not . I am trying to post information about a local craft cider, Laura Clacey (talk · contribs) is not another account nor have I met the user before. The issue is, I found a post by Laura Clacey (talk · contribs) had been subjected to speedy deletion, I am yet to see how the post is related to promotion of a product as it is a post of a local cider and it's variations as well as how it came to be. If you are a Admin of the wiki, please ether review mine and allow it or restore Laura Clacey (talk · contribs) post and drop mine, I have contested the speedy deletion of my post already.

Hi @Cabayi: and @Laura Clacey: and @Gdparkinson: Sxollie cider posted this 22 hrs ago on their facebook page.
COMPETITION TIME!!
We need your help - SXOLLIE is not on Wikipedia, we want it there! Help us by creating a SXOLLIE page. First one to do this wins an awesome SXOLLIE hamper as well as a lifetime of cudos.
As a result I will file a COI report and ask for the page to be salted until this dies down as promising a hamper to create a Wikipedia page is clearly COI. --Domdeparis (talk) 10:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Domdeparis, the text you give sounds like a blatant call for meat-puppets. Could you provide a link? Thanks, Cabayi (talk) 10:50, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Laura Clacey, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

  • You may have initially come here in good faith, sincerely thinking that Wikipedia was a free web host that could be used for the purpose of publicising a company's products, so denying that you had any bad-faith intention would be plausible, but to deny that publicising and promoting the company's products was your purpose is absurd. Any one who has read the page you created can see that it was full of praise for the company's cider. You may well have come in response to a request on Facebook for people to create a Wikipedia article in order to publicise this product. If so, you were, unfortunately, misled about the nature of Wikipedia. You are very welcome to start contributing to the encyclopaedia in other ways, neutrally and without promoting anything, but if your only purpose is to post a promotional page about this cider, whether in order to gain a hamper of cider, in order to publicise something you personally like, because you are paid to do it, or for any other reason, then Wikipedia is not the right place to do it. Hi Cabayi and JamesBWatson

noted, It was not my intention nor anyone's intention to create the looks of puppetry, including Laura Clacey (talk · contribs), we will be aware of this going forward in the use of the wiki and our contributions.

Operating a shared account is not permitted. we will be aware of this going forward in the use of the wiki and our... pretty well confirms WP:COI and meat/sock puppetry. I am prepared to indefinitely block anyone who attempts to post spam relating to this company here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:46, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak: From what I can see this person made an error when he replied in good faith to a call from the cider company on facebook (i have checked out a few of his posts on their facebook page). He seems to be a genuine fan of the cider and not tied to the company and did not think he was doing anything that was against WP policies. There was obviously a genuine conflict of interest because he was hoping to win a hamper but acted in good faith by taking part. The cider company was less in good faith as they had already had the page deleted in August as being not notable and this competition was a way of getting others to do the job and try and fly under the radar...Domdeparis (talk) 14:21, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Domdeparis, thanks for the ping. I'm prepared to AGF for the time being, and I would hope that the number of warnings on this page would deter further travel down this cider-soaked route Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:09, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
