Winning a low turnout partisan primary does not convey notability. The sources in the article are essentially self-published by his employer or refer to Ballotpedia, an encyclopedia which itself sources back to the same original sources. There is nothing remotely resembling an RSS in either the article on Wikipedia or the Ballotpedia source. Being born in Hardin, KY, clerking for a judge, staffing for Mitch McConnell, playing football, does not convey notability or we'd have tens of thousands of articles about obscure benchwarmers. I respectfully disagree. Cameron was just endorsed by the President, which I was coming in to update, not may Americans can ay that for either party in their lifetime. With regards to Ballotpedia..they have their own independent verification process. You discontent winning the nomination of a major political party for a statewide office. The polling shows he is AHEAD in the race (see KY AG Race on Wiki) and could break the long streak of one party rule by the Democrats since 1948. Also the Wikipedia policy should at a minimum allow for a political nominee of either major party during the election cycle to be here if their opponent is here. Otherwise it gives an unfair advantage as many people search to initially learn about candidates on Wikipedia. At worst it is up for a few months...many on this cite have a short term outlook, this site will be around for years and needs a longer term focus in my opinion. Thank you. Wikipedia has had a long-standing policy, with which I have long personally disagreed volubly, that mere winning of a primary does not convey notability. I lost those arguments to overwhelming consensus. I don't make the rules. If Cameron wins the election, an article about him will be warranted, but unless something remarkable happens to him between now and then, I expect it will be pretty thin gruel. I'll look at the election article on Wikipedia but this doesn't expect it will change anything. I don't know what's happening in KY, but the "D"s hugely outpolled the "R"s in the primaries. Their governor, Bevin, may have left a bad taste in the public's mouth, though there were even worse candidates on the "R" ticket, such as Dan Johnson (Kentucky politician) who was also elected in 2016. The Democratic gubernatorial and other statewide candidates polled about 150,000 more total votes than the Republicans in the contested primaries. Activist--Thank you for your comments and insight. Sounds like you are quite knowledgeable about KY politics, 2nd longest AG streak among Republicans and 2nd longest overall, only behind Mississippi, which has their primary next week and has a streak back to 1878 I believe. Is there a way to request policy changes as this seems silly -to delete or at least not say you have a conditional/probationary period during the election. Especially with a trend in politics of people running for office without government experience. The current governor of North Dakota was a successful businessman before being elected, but it appears under the standards here he would not have gotten a page in deep red North Dakota after the primary when barring a major upset ( which didn't happen) he won the primary and was going to win to be governor of a state. A consensus of those who participated perhaps....perhaps more people are needed to vote! not just ruled by the oligarchy at the top. I do know a bit about KY politics and have slightly known a couple of officeholders. Mississipi may have a long streak, but Jim Hood is leaving office to run for Governor, so that streak might end shortly. Activist (talk) 10:28, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Activist--just read Larry Sabato--he is predicting a GOP runoff, but then a GOP victory yet in general with Hood being a strong candidate. There are indeed ways to get policy to change. Notability guidelines are not "ruled by the oligarchy at the top"; like most things on Wikipedia, they are formulated through consensus of participating editors. While not a perfect process, it does tend to reflect a large amount of editing experience. How do you link & then build campaign pages? For example, I have worked on the AG pages a lot and on the election for those pages. So in a South Dakota AG 2019 election how do I go for 2015 and 2023. Did you get photos of thousands of medals and pick out those you saw on his chest, or did you get a list from him or his campaign and verify that? Just curious. Sure--there are many editors that just cause chaos and seek to delete content for no reason. This one said his name was Fastily"BOT" so I think it is fair to ask if he is real or a robot automatically tagging pictures...especially since the picture has been there for months without complaint.Gemofadeal (talk)
