Bufalino family[edit]

I put back your information about the former members but it still needs references (book or newspaper article).

I found this The rise and fall of a mob power by Dave Janoski (July 17, 2011)

According to James Kanavy, a former investigator for the Pennsylvania Crime Commission, said "I don't think there's a standalone family here any more," and he also said "Any remnants here would be aligned with the New York families."

Are there any references saying the family is still active? --Vic49 (talk) 16:18, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did some clean up on what you added. According to Jerry Capeci "Joseph Barbara was not a member of Buffalo family". For referencing help check out Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners --Vic49 (talk) 21:28, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed the referencing links, some clean up but I have two problems
  1. You wrote this "According to the Pennsylvania Crime Commission, Bufalino was named acting boss for the Genovese organization after the murder of Genovese boss Thomas "Tommy Ryan" Eboli. Mr. Bufalino maintained that position until the family elected Frank "Funzi" Tieri as boss."A Decade of Organized Crime: 1980 Report" Pennsylvania Crime Commission. St. Davids Press. ISBN 0937972002 9780937972007. OCLC Number 6749317. cant view any copy, do you have a second reference stating this statment is true? I really dont belive that the Genovese family (from NYC) would have Bufalino as acting boss.
  2. You also wrote this "D'Elia was closely aligned with the Philadelphia crime family and it's former boss John Stanfa. While under indictment Stanfa chose William D'Elia to act as acting boss of the Philadelphia family in the event he was imprisoned. The move was opposed by the Merlino faction of the family and in the interest of peace never came to fruition. Upon Ralph Natale's release from prison, D'Elia brought Natale to New York City and obtained approval from the Colombo family for him to be Boss of the family." the part I have a problem with is D'Elia becoming acting boss of Philly cant be true, Philly was at war he could have been a middle man between philly and the Five families in New York. --Vic49 (talk) 01:48, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
