Hello George, Welcome to the Wikipedia

moving articles[edit]

hello there, you moved the article Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, 28th Duchess of Alba to its current location, may I know on what grounds? with kind regards Gryffindor 16:28, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello George, you have moved the article concering Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, 28th Duchess of Alba for the second time without giving an answer to my query. Moving articles is no biggie, however you should explain your actions better, in the edit summary or wherever. Please give a reasonable explanation to the moving of the article. Explaining actions better will also convince others users if it is correct, I myself am open for any suggestions or explanations. If I do not hear anything, I will unfortunately see no other recourse but to revert your edits. with kind regards Gryffindor 13:17, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Catalonia-geo-stub[edit]

Please don't change Catalonia-geo-stub. It took quite a long time to get it to a stable state where people weren't edit-warring over it. That is the reason it was protected late last year and is still semi-protected. Other regional templates don't mention the nation the regions are in unless there are other regions with the same name elsewhere in the world (in the case of Catalonia, there isn't). And adding the word Spain simply causes supporters and opposers of Catalan independence to start messing around with it and other related templates. As such, it makes perfect sense to leave it simply referring to "Catalonia", and not "Catalonia, Spain". Grutness...wha? 10:52, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw the edit summary on this subject -- is everything ok? Doc Quintana (talk) 22:26, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(after ec) Will you please refrain from breaking consensus on how Catalonia is listed on its stub templates? Yes, it's a region of Spain. But that doesn't need to be made explicit on the template. The stub template for Utah doesn't say "this is for a location in Utah, United States of America". It doesn't need to - people know it's part of the larger country - and the number of blue links in a stub template is deliberately kept to as small a number as possible - so an extra link, in this case to Spain, is discouraged. None of the stub templates for Spanish regions mention Spain for that reason. Check the likes of {{Cantabria-geo-stub}} and {{Murcia-geo-stub}}. They deliberately do not mention Spain. And with Catalonia there is the added problem that including "Spain" in the descriptor provokes the possibility of edit-warring with Catalan separatist editors (as has happened in the past). The edits you are making are disruptive to the smooth operation of this stub type - please stop. Grutness...wha? 22:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010[edit]

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Fencing. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 15:06, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of diplomatic missions in Mexico[edit]

Please check before you delete delegations from this article or any other articles in the category. The Basque delegation and delegation of Quebec do in fact exist. Here are two websites proving it.

Thank you! Aquintero (talk) 15:11, 02 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you give a reason for your edits, stop deleting missions from this article. You are the one vandalizing this article, not I. Continue to do so, and I will report you to the administrators of Wikipedia. Aquintero (talk) 11:34, 04 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spain[edit]

Please desist in removing material form the article Spain. If you have legitimate concerns, please raise them at the article talk page so that editors may discuss them. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 18:13, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there GEORGE, VASCO from Portugal here,

really do not understand your approach on this player's birthplace. After i directed you towards the 3 external links, all saying he was born in "X", you reverted to your "Y" of choice. Now, here's a fourth one (please see here http://www.futbolme.com/com/jugadores.asp?id_jugador=3986) saying where he was born. Yes, i know that ES.WIKI says he is from Ayegui, but does that make it reliable 100%.

Please respect other people's work, or at least let's try and discuss this before reaching anywhere. So far, i have got FOUR links - including his club's OFFICIAL website - you have Spanish wiki and your "He is from Ayegui!" argument.

Cheers, until some other time - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 01:51, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Carme Ruscalleda, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You have been told about changing articles to suit your POV, Carme Ruscalleda is clearly Catalan. Please desist. As you will not discuss your edits on article talk pages you are going to get blocked. Jezhotwells (talk) 02:05, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at 2010 Catalan autonomy protest, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Jezhotwells (talk) 02:08, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent vandalism, as you did to Sabino Arana, will not be tolerated. Although vandalizing articles on occasions that are days or weeks apart from each other sometimes prevents editors from being blocked, your continued vandalism constitutes a long term pattern of abuse. The next time you vandalize a page, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia without further notice. Jezhotwells (talk) 02:11, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
