It is sad to say that Jamaica after it's independence from Briton has very little or no information on Jamaican born authors, or their books. It is as if the contributors to their infrastructure, education and general development as a country in an uplifting way never happened and is not worth remembering. From a historic prospective I think that is a loss to Jamaica, as I had to rely on my adopted country Canada, to preserve my family's contribution to Jamaica's history. I am very proud to say that with help from UK Military Genealogist Alan Greveson & US Genealogist Madeline E. Mitchell my research was completed. My family info is now available to the Public, and researchers at York University Toronto On. Canada, in The Scott Library-Clara Thomas Archive & Special Collections under Fonds "The Archambeau-Thomas Family Collection" www.yorku.ca/moir . This collection was scattered around the word, and for the first time it now sits under one roof for the benefit of interested History readers. Crossing the racial divide in Colonial times by marring my black grandmother Lenora Thomas. This was not an easy thing for my grandfather Herbert Theodore Thomas to do, when one considers his background as a white Jamaican who's Moravian family arrived in Jamaica in 1754, only to be forgotten after Independence because of race and, the fact that he was a born Jamaican.
