Hi, Your good faith edits to the Island View article were reverted by another editor as unconstructive, unfortunately those reversions lost some of the referenced links in the article. I reverted the article back to the last stable version, prior to your first edit, then went through it to convert relevant sections to the past tense, as I believe you originally intended. Please note that converting to past tense should only make it read as an historical article. IE: changing 'is' to 'was' , 'are' to 'where' etc, though not in quoted statements, as that would be altering what a person actually said. Referenced sections should not be removed, as that takes away the historical aspect of the article in letting people know what happened at that given time, along with the weblinks to support the data given. Richard Harvey (talk) 10:12, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks very much. I appreciate the explanation.

GetSomeUtah (talk) 08:32, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

No Problem. :) Having edited the page it is now in my watchlist, so I have noted the anon editors replacment of the Elevations data in the infobox. I envisage this may create a content dispute / edit war. May I suggest that you create an article about the renamed Elevations RTC, as you seem to have some knowledge about the two, then they can be wikilinked to each other. It doesn't have to be very big just something to note that it exists and that it is the renamed former unit and have an infobox with the relevant details. Richard Harvey (talk) 08:39, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for keeping an eye out. I think it makes a lot of sense to have an Elevations page and was considering starting one myself, but it's a daunting process, and I'm a newbie. Still, I'll give it a go. I don't have a stake in the debate over "Is Elevations really Island View in disguise?" I just want information about each entity to be placed where it belongs and where people can find it. Two pages would serve that goal. Thanks for your encouragement, and I'd welcome assistance in any missteps I'm bound to make in setting up a new page. GetSomeUtah (talk) 23:34, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Editors with a financial conflict of interest, including paid editors, are advised not to edit affected articles; they may suggest changes on the talk page and must disclose their COI. Paid editors are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose their employer (the person or organization paying for the edits), client (the organization or person on whose behalf the edits are made, such as the subject of the article), and affiliation; see paid-contribution disclosure.[6]

No worries there, friend. As you see, I haven't added anything in favor of any commercial entity. Please be specific. Looks like you're cutting and pasting generic material into my talk page. Best regards. GetSomeUtah (talk) 08:56, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tove Lo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page DTF. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Helena Josefsson home

Dear friend, I kindly thank you for your message. I have replied you under your comment and dare to write you here as well. Please, observe the following link, which is an official Facebook of Helena Josefsson, where she herself states she lives in Bjärred. Moreover, you can just google "Helena Josefsson Bjärred". A great number of Swedish phone-book sites will be presented, in order to confirm this. They contain, however, private information, like full address and social security numbers, etc. I would like not to post them on Wiki. Kind regards, Kreecher (talk) 05:49, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

Reference errors on 2 July

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:30, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, ReferenceBot, I tried fixing it, but it seems one needs advanced programming skills. Will have to rely on the kindness of strangers for an assist. GetSomeUtah (talk) 00:42, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, GetSomeUtah. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello GetSomeUtah. All or some of your addition(s) to American Redoubt has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 02:50, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, Diannaa. I didn't do a copy/paste, and I did in fact only do a small summary, so there was no copyright vio. Best regards. GetSomeUtah (talk) 11:28, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
The material that was copied was not a summary, but a list of ten things to do when preparting to move to the redoubt. The list is identical to content found at https://survivalblog.com/redoubt/ and elsewhere online, and is therefore a copyright violation. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:20, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Godspeed, Diannaa. You seem to enjoy using your Bot indiscriminately, and I notice you delete your work to cover your tracks. See you in the Redoubt, no doubt. GetSomeUtah (talk) 20:02, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Redaction was done under criterion RD1 of the deletion policy. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:36, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Harassment and edit-warring

Stop harassing me please. If you haven't done so already, you need to familiarise yourself with the talk page guidelines, particularly the section on user talk pages. If you want me to respond to a substantive issue, then raise it. Don't start off your conversation with an attack on an article talk page (where you shouldn't be discussing users at all) and then revert-war to re-insert a lie on my user page. DrKay (talk) 17:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Greetings, DrKay. Welcome to Wikipedia. I was engaging in a substantive discussion. All editors would be indeed be able to see that discussion if you hadn't blanked out your personal talk page and large sections of the talk page of the article we were discussing. I hope that you will please begin using consensus rather than continued reversions and edit-wars to advance your point of view. As you can see, I welcome discussion on my talk page. It would not have occurred to me to just erase your contribution above, as you tend to do on your talk page. I trust you will familiarize yourself with Wikipedia practices, and I wish you well as you continue adding to the various articles on nobility. Best regards, GetSomeUtah (talk) 20:48, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Typo?

Hi. I noticed your edit here. Did you mean user:Belson 303? Disembodied Soul (talk) 03:18, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello and thanks. Yes, probably. I have a difficult time doing the coding on those templates. I would welcome any assistance. GetSomeUtah (talk) 11:59, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

January 2017

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Gunnison Tunnel. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:52, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. As I understand it, you're not saying I actually did add public domain material. You're merely saying I "may" have. I believe I properly cited the original material and summarized it per WP guidelines. Others are welcome to adjust, edit, or delete as appropriate. Regards, GetSomeUtah (talk) 10:42, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Helena Josefsson

Hello, may I kindly ask, why would you insert a "[citation needed]" template in this article in various places, in particular after the sentence about her album Dynamo is released? What exactly do you want to clarify? The fact the album was released? It's title or release date? I would also like to know, what do you expect to cite in case of her second child was born? Do you want a proof Josefsson has two children now? Thanks. Kreecher (talk) 19:12, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Yes, the article stated that she was expecting a child in 2012. So obviously that's out of date and had to be fixed. It raises the question of whether she actually had just that child or indeed another one or more since then. Either way, yes, such things do need to be sourced and verifiable, as per WP:CITE. Same for Dynamo. I'm only the messenger. Regards, GetSomeUtah (talk) 20:01, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
You do realize, one can't cite every sentence written? Citing the fact the album was released, is like citing, that the Moon is a satellite to Earth. I mean, this is the fact, which is obvious and can be checked easily on amazon or every on-line store in seconds. Moreover, according to WP:BOLD you yourself may also look for the sources and citations, instead of inserting tens of "citation needed" templates, right?))) I also believe the article has enough citation sources and the main citation-needed-template at the beginning of the article may be removed. If one has particular/specific questions about some unclear statements, one can use "citation needed" template after these paragraphs. There is no need for a template for the whole article. Thanks. Kreecher (talk) 07:49, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

Please be more cautious when making comments such as this. Only two of the references used in the article are from the Action Target website, and one is from a promotional booklet they published. That's out of 27 references used in the article. That's not even close to "most of the cites" by any stretch of the imagination. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 17:40, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. I'm plenty cautious. It's generally more productive to focus on edits than admonishing editors, I find. GetSomeUtah (talk) 21:29, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Feel free to ignore it (as your comments seem to imply you will), but lying in your edit summaries is generally frowned upon. It doesn't create an atmosphere of trust, something very necessarily to work on a collaborative project such as Wikipedia. Thanks for your time. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:13, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
I'm always happy to address substantive edits. Thank you for reworking the article to remove the unsubstantiated claim. GetSomeUtah (talk) 00:46, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello, GetSomeUtah. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Lo Loves You, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Thank you. Yes, I fully understand why it is not immediately apparent that the film is notable. I kindly request a day or two to flesh it out. I've also said the same in the article's talk page. Regards, GetSomeUtah (talk) 20:26, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Nochyyy (talk) 14:44, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. I understand that you withdrew your complaint to avoid an imminent boomerang sanction here. I also see that the administrators agreed with my edits here.
You can find official guidance on ethnicity/nationality in MOS:BLPLEAD, and WP:ES discusses the importance of using an edit summary and what to include.
In the future, please alert users to such discussions by creating a new section at the bottom rather than burying it in the middle of a talk page with no heading. GetSomeUtah (talk) 08:58, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

Your removal of Iranian-

You are removing the sourced Iranian ethnicity of multiple biographies (example: Sara Zahedi) with no good reason and with the false edit summary "rv unexplained change" (there was no such change to be reverted prior to your edits). Please stop your disruptive edits. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:15, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. You will want to look closely at the IP editor who made most those original edits ("Swedish" to "Iranian-Swedish") in the first place, and citations are always welcomed that attest to one's citizenship if you disagree with my edits. You are correct in the case of Zehedi -- that was an error on my part, but it was made in good faith, as I was undoing several that were lumped together by the aforementioned IP editor. Please kindly remember that it is considered uncivil to accuse others of disruptive editing. And it does not foster goodwill and trust needed to resolve disagreements. Regards, GetSomeUtah (talk) 21:45, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
These sorts of claims are about national origin (not citizenship) so asking for documentation of citizenship misses the point. And, as on my talk page, you are continuing to double down on your false justifications by piling on more falsehoods. In the article I specifically mentioned here, the claim in question was in place at the creation of the article, and had not ever been touched after that point except by you. In at least one other, that we discussed on my talk, the change was not from "Swedish" as you claim, but actually from "Swedish of Iranian origin", and your change did not revert it but instead removed the Iranian part altogether. And in all the cases I reverted (which was most but not all of the ones I looked at) the subject's Iranian birth or parentage was attested in the later text of the article. I do not think it inaccurate to call your changes disruptive. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:47, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. GetSomeUtah (talk) 00:33, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

I plan to have it renamed to "Category:LGBT-related films directed by women", but first, per Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#C2E: Author request (WP:C2E), I just want to ask you whether you approve the renaming request. If so, may you or I please add {{cfr-speedy}} there? Thanks. --George Ho (talk) 07:19, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Sure. I'm fine with the change. I see the category is under fire by another user, and I don't have experience in the category-defense realm, but I support your efforts to keep a similar category alive. Thanks for letting me know. GetSomeUtah (talk) 00:26, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
