December 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Gavbadger. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Camp Bucca, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gavbadger (talk) 17:44, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Signing poats[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. - wolf 03:43, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I see that you are sort of signing your posts, as your username, (with links to your userpages) are at the end of your comments. Are you adding that manually? I only ask, because posts need to be timestamped as well, and yours aren't. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but every time you post, a bot has to add the timestamps to each of your comments afterwards. If you are adding it manually, it really is simpler to just add the four tildes, or click the signature link, as noted above. That way your complete signature, with timestamp, is added immediately, which saves all those bot entries from being added to the page history. This is also helpful for watchlisting. Cheers - wolf 23:06, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be honest, I hadn't noticed. I've only been adding 3 tildes instead of 4 so maybe I should check myself, huh. Thanks Ghostwriter1947 (talk) 23:32, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

fyi[edit]

I saw you added the pings, but they don't work unless you save them and your signature at the same time. (Yeah, I know... it's some weird glitch). See Template:Reply to and Help:Fixing failed pings. And no, this stuff doesn't get any easier, there's just more of it. Always more... - wolf 04:36, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
