Denny Bautista

Yes, but at the time you changed Bautista's team to the Hanwha Eagles, he was still listed on the Tacoma Rainiers' roster on milb.com. Therefore, you should not have changed his team yet. The deal could have fallen through. Now, though, he is officially on the Eagles' roster, so this doesn't matter anymore. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 11:19, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Feldman

The MLB waiver rule is very complicated, not like the NFL [1]. Just giving you the heads up. Ositadinma 20:29, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm not a beginner in baseball, haha. I know it's different, but yesterday, it was reported that he was outrighted. When that happens, he's removed from the 40-man roster, which that article states. He rejected the outright assignment, meaning he could've been activated (and be re-added to the 40) or be released. I was still right.--Giants27(T|C) 20:46, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Well you could've of waited for the full story to play out, since he is to be activated tonight, instead of making an edit to the template that was basically useless. :) Ositadinma 20:49, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Not really. In this case, yes, it is. However, it was reported that he was outrighted off the 40 and that he was to clear waivers a few hours later. While it may seem useless now, he was off the 40 until today.--Giants27(T|C) 20:52, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Hello. I see you are open for adopting? A user who has been editing Wikipedia since Thursday, October 28, 2010. 00:42, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I never remember to update that. Sorry, but I really just don't have the time and given that I'm really still just re-adjusting to the site myself after a long absence, it's not the best time for me. Cheers,--Giants27(T|C) 00:48, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
That's absolutely all right. Thanks again, A user who has been editing Wikipedia since Thursday, October 28, 2010. 00:59, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

hello, again

Hello. Please tell me why you undid this. The coaching staff has titles preceding their names. I wish for you to respond here as to not come close to an edit war on the template's edit page. Please explain yourself. An editor since 10.28.2010. 04:40, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

It made the navbox look cluttered and as a whole, listing their information defeated the purpose of it in my mind; to provide links to the players on the roster and give their number.--Giants27(T|C) 13:38, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Also, why did you type “no way” in your edit summary? Just wondering. An editor since 10.28.2010. 02:32, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
I have no clue really. Sorry, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 02:33, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

No problem... I think we're all a little overly excited about football being back. Ektar (talk) 03:50, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Herzlich

Lucky you. I was hoping Dallas would pick him up. We could always use a 14th linebacker after all. RevanFan (talk) 14:38, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Haha, in all fairness, I think the Giants needed him more. Our linebackers are always our weakness.--Giants27(T|C) 14:51, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Boley wasn't when he hammered Romo into the turf. RevanFan (talk) 14:54, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
He's been decent, but besides him, our linebackers are awful, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 14:55, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Well who does Dallas have that is so great? All they have is... actually, never mind. RevanFan (talk) 14:58, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Exactly. You guys have Ware, Bradie James, Spencer, all of whom are better than the Giants have.--Giants27(T|C) 15:02, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Haven't been around in a while, not sure of latest protocol, but IIRC, we don't accept MLB Trade Rumors as a reliable source. Please revert until reported as official by the teams themselves. GlassCobra 16:08, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

What? No way. It's a done deal. I just used it because besides official twitters, there are no sources. Also, it is reliable in my mind, since they use beat writers and other reporters as sources.--Giants27(T|C) 16:13, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Nothing is done until it's reported by the teams themselves, or at least mainstream media. All that we have now is tweets from random reporters. That is insufficient to justify changing as of yet. That is longstanding protocol, please revert your changes for the time being. GlassCobra 16:15, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I've seen Buster Olney, Ken Rosenthal and MLB's official twitter just say it. Not reverting when it's true, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 16:16, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
From WP:V, which you should know: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." Please revert until the teams confirm the story. GlassCobra 16:21, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I have to disagree. The teams don't need to confirm for something to be true and verifiable. MLBTradeRumors is a legitimate source as is Major League Baseball's official twitter and the the White Sox twitter.--Giants27(T|C) 16:24, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
By your logic, you should not have reverted this edit, when MLB Trade Rumors is also reporting that Jackson is likely to be flipped for Rasmus. Isn't that the same level of verification that you seem to think is necessary? GlassCobra 16:27, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
As expected, Jackson is now involved in an "imminent" deal for Rasmus, according to MLBTR. However, this should not be added to the article until it is officially confirmed by the teams, and not by some blowhards on Twitter, no matter who's posting it. GlassCobra 16:43, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I know the difference, haha. It says "imminent" for that one, but the original trade was "official" and "confirmed". I don't add possibilities, nor have I ever.--Giants27(T|C) 16:52, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Last year, the Cliff Lee to Yankees deadline deal was being reported as "official" and "confirmed" by MLBTR and the gabbling peanut gallery on Twitter. The trade ended up falling through, Lee went to Texas instead, as I'm sure you know. The point is, we gain nothing by jumping the gun and changing articles before deals are 100% team-confirmed official. GlassCobra 16:59, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I guess you're missing my point. It was 100% confirmed and official by multiple sources, including MLB and Chicago, when I updated, but I'm not going to link to their twitters as references, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 17:00, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
No, you're the one missing the point. You seem to agree that Twitter is insufficient as a source, yet somehow when MLBTR regurgitates those Twitter links, that's okay? MLBTR is not a reliable source, it is a baseball rumormongering aggregator. Even the so-called "official MLB Twitter" doesn't cut it. GlassCobra 17:08, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Speaking of which, last I checked, the MLBTR links are still in the articles as references, please remove them. GlassCobra 17:09, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I do view those sources as reliable on twitter, but like I said, I don't think it's best to link to their twitters as a reference, no matter how reliable. And plus, you're making a big deal over something that was confirmed by everybody, but are reverting to old styles in that MLB.com is the only reliable source on planet earth mentality that went our years ago.--Giants27(T|C) 17:14, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Also, of course MLBTradeRumors is a rumormongering site. I believe that it is the point, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 17:15, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
You're still not getting it. Rumormongering sites are not acceptable as Wikipedia references. If you have to go back later and change links with edit summaries saying "replace with official source," you're doing it wrong! Just don't update until the official sources are available. GlassCobra 18:37, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I do get it. MLBTradeRumors reports rumors, but when something actually happens, they report that as well. I replaced them because you asked me to. It seemed fair enough, so I did it. Plus, MLB already reported it on their twitter, which was enough. But whatever, if we're sticking with waiting 14 hours until MLB.com finally updates when 100 reliable sources have already said something has happened, then I'm not going to bother.--Giants27(T|C) 18:40, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Albert Haynesworth

Based on what you said, I think what you should do is change Haynesworth back to Skins. Not only is it not confirmed, BB said himself that Haynesworth is not a done deal. Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 15:56, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Trades can happen and from what I can tell, it appears to be done.--Giants27(T|C) 16:45, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

OchoCinco

COME ON!!! You are starting to be hypocritical. This was barely announced and hasn't even been confirmed! Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 21:53, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Not being hypocritical when it has been confirmed, haha.--Giants27(T|C) 21:53, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

RE: Brunell

Thanks for the update, I have changed the article. --Coingeek (talk) 15:48, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Brunell

Brunell was cut. In order for the Jets to reduce his salary they would have to cut him and then resign him. Sites such as ESPN, The Star-Ledger are reporting the same thing, he's been cut. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 16:14, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm unsure. I saw a tweet from Jason LaCanfora that said they were just going to re-structure his contract (he would not have to be cut to do so) and his report is the most recent one.--Giants27(T|C) 16:16, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
It is a crazy time, I'll admit. But even the Jets official website said he's been cut (and the announcement was made by GM Tannenbaum) and I'd be more inclined to believe the writers that actually work with the team than LaConfora at this point. But, it's a tricky situation so it's anyone's guess. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 16:22, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I would as well, but like you said, it's tough to say.--Giants27(T|C) 16:24, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I'll just be glad when 6pm rolls around so we don't have to revert an edit every 2 seconds. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 16:26, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Haha, you and me both. I just wish that the NFL never decided to allow talks to begin on Tuesday, but nobody could sign until today. When I first heard about that, I knew it would be like this.--Giants27(T|C) 16:27, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

PAts roster

Kyle ARrington was signed confirmed by pats, I moved him but I can't make the exclusive rights FA section go away, can you fix it please? Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 23:00, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

You change ERFA=yes to ERFA=no. Also, please edit the count and give a summary of your edits next time. RevanFan (talk) 23:05, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Vikings roster moves

Could you make these changes please? I'm too busy for big edits right now. Cowboys practice is about to start, and I can't miss the live chats. RevanFan (talk) 19:20, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Note: I have already taken care of this. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:43, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 July newsletter

We are half way through the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; there is less than a month to go before we have our final 8. Our pool leaders are New Zealand Adabow (submissions) (Pool A, 189 points) and Russia PresN (submissions) (Pool B, 165 points). The number of points required to reach the next round is not clear at this time; there are some users who still do not have any recorded points. Please remember to update your submissions' pages promptly. In addition, congratulations to PresN, who scored the first featured topic points in the competition for his work on Thatgamecompany related articles. Most points this round generally have, so far, come from good articles, with only one featured article (White-bellied Sea Eagle, from Scotland Casliber (submissions)) and two featured lists (Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, from PresN and Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album, from Another Believer (submissions)). Points for Did You Know and good article reviews round out the scoring. No points have been awarded for In the News, good topics or featured pictures this round, and no points for featured sounds or portals have been awarded in the entire competition. On an unrelated note, preparation will be beginning soon for next year's WikiCup- watch this space!

There is little else to be said beyond the usual. Please list anything you need reviewing on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, so others following the WikiCup can help, and please do help if you can by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup- points are, of course, offered for reviews at GAC. Two final notes: Firstly, please remember to state your participation in the WikiCup when nominating articles at FAC. Finally, some WikiCup-related statistics can be seen here and here. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 11:32, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
