I'm reverting the phrasing from the slightly dodgy "This user requires a wheelchair to ambulate" to the original "This user uses a wheelchair". Many wheelchair users are, in fact, capable of walking very short distances, and "requires a wheelchair to ambulate" is not only a lumpy phrase, but a bit too close to "confined to a wheelchair" for my taste.

chair inclusivity?[edit]

Do folks want to consider switching to a version of the universal wheelchair-accessible logo? The curent graphic is a little hard to see, and it's definitely a non-powered chair.

I'm the original author of this userbox, and I did consider that option. However, to my surprise, the universal wheelchair-accessible logo is copyrighted and under fair use. Otherwise, I'd be right there with ya. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 09:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, THAT version isn't fair use. Good enough for me -- I've made the changes. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 21:35, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
