Re: Picture help

Hmmm, when it comes down to these kind of scenarios, I usually try to pick something that is linked. Maybe dry ice, which is mentioned in the "Filming and effects" section. I did something similar for "Deadalive". Maybe a picture of Tom Baker? That's kind of stretching it, though.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 01:10, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the updates! I'll try and keep an eye out. I'm quite happy with how John Hart is looking so as long as I'm logged in at some point I should be able to monitor it.

Unfortunately, I don't feel I have the time to make large sweeping edits anymore. I would like to take Jackie Tyler a bit further, though still holding out for information from a print source.

Happy editing! Eshlare (talk) 15:53, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Doctor Who (series 7), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ice Warriors (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Congrats

Wanted to say good work on getting the Genesis of the Daleks article up to GA status. In honor of that, and the ongoing 50th Anniversary celebrations, I though I would give you a chance to see a treats. First is this print [1] by Al Hirschfeld. Copies of this were available for a short period of time back in the late 80s or early 90s. Sadly my budget didn't stretch to it at the time. Next is this gem [2]. If you zoom in on some of the pics you'll see Leela and Bessie among many others. The Master seems to be a mix of Delgado - mostly - and Ainley - the costume. I did get to play it once. Unfortunately, it was on a business trip to Minneapolis so I didn't get enough time to get used to the way it combined any Dr Who storylines with its gameplay. Thanks again for all your work and cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 19:52, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

That first ones gets McCoy surprisingly accurately, considering the cartoonish style. Remembrance of the Daleks is my next project, and then Earthshock. I'm almost done with the Pertwee era and I'm working through the existing/partially existing episodes of Troughton. Are you aware that BBC America has a special on him tonight? They're playing Tomb of the Cybermen too. Glimmer721 talk 22:24, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
I am glad that BBC America is giving each of the Drs a special. I wonder if they will be showing The Three Drs for Pertwee's. I also hope that we will be getting to see An Adventure in Space and Time later this year. Cheers MarnetteD | Talk 23:07, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Spearhead from Space, Terror of the Autons, and The Time Warrior seem to be the other likeliest candidates. I have no idea what they'll decide on for Tom Baker! There are too many choices. Glimmer721 talk 23:42, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
You are correct. Tom could have two or even three shows. One from the first three "Hinchcliffe" years, one from the more comedic "Williams" years and one from his last season. Have a great week. MarnetteD | Talk 23:49, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
In the UK, we had a nine-month gap between seasons 18 and 19, instead of the five-month gap that we were used to. To bridge this, we got a mini-season of repeats entitled "The Five Faces of Doctor Who" - five four-episode serials, one episode a day, Monday to Thursday, beginning 2 November 1981 and ending 3 December 1981. They were An Unearthly Child, The Krotons, Carnival of Monsters, The Three Doctors and Logopolis, in that order - the only reason I can think for CoM being shown before TTD was so that TTD episode 1 went out on 23 November. The publicity implied that there would be five stories, one for each Doctor; but the only transmitted footage of Peter Davison was Logopolis (Castrovalva, although complete, wouldn't be first broadcast until 4 January 1982), so that covered him and Tom Baker. Three of the other four stories were also pretty much forced - they wanted to show how it all began (AUC); there was only one Patrick Troughton four-parter (Tomb of the Cybermen wasn't recovered until ten years later), hence The Krotons; they also wanted a story with more than one Doctor simultaneously (TTD). The only story where they had any real freedom of choice was CoM. Not a bad selection really. In 1981, some families had a VCR, but we didn't... --Redrose64 (talk) 00:26, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I think I read about that. BBCA played The Aztecs, which was a pretty good choice concerning the characters and drama. Glimmer721 talk 02:38, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
