My GA review

Hi Glimmer, how has my GA review been (I ask because it is my first)? Would you mind me reviewing Death is the Only Answer? Thanks, Matty.007 11:54, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

It's not bad (I think I cleared up some of your questions), but "Death is the Only Answer" is kind of an experiment in that there really isn't any precedent for it (it's not exactly a normal episode, no reception exists, etc). Since I honestly don't know about it myself, I was sort of looking for someone with more authority or experience (and it may even go into second opinion). However you're probably good with reviewing normal TV episdodes on the queue. Welcome to the GA team! Glimmer721 talk 16:37, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Good that I checked then... Best, Matty.007 16:44, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

GA

A Favor...

Hey, I have a favor to ask. I don't know if you watch the show Adventure Time, but I've been working on getting the episode list up to FL. Is there anyway you could pop on over to the page and vote/comment etc? I'm having a hard time getting anyone to comment on it, and I based it off of similar lists, like the one for The X-Files. Thanks! Also, what did you think of the DW Christmas special?--Gen. Quon (Talk) 16:23, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Not that experienced with lists, but I'll check it out this week. And there was some drama going on at the house I was at during the Christmas special so I couldn't hear all the important lines and exposition (and the show is really not designed for commercial breaks), but I liked it a lot better on rewatch. Question

Hi Glimmer, would you be willing to review a Doctor Who GAN for me please? Thanks, Matty.007 20:59, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Bit busy this week but I'll see. Actually, I'm not sure if I'm qualified, because 90% of the reception and production sections were written by me. Just looking at it there are a few stylistic errors (the citation for the quote indent, which I'm not sure needs a quote indent anyway), the structure and lack of references in continuity (some of that stuff may not even need to be there), and the third paragraph of the lead needing to be longer with more info (more production, viewers, etc). Try reviews or this (already cited a few times in the article) for continuity. I was waiting to see if there was more production info, but I've got the Blu-ray set and there's no commentary, so I'd say it's complete for now. Anyway, if you're interested in Doctor Who, I've got links to reviews and Doctor Who Confidential (on YouTube) that can help fill out earlier articles, but I haven't been able to get around to them. Glimmer721 talk 00:54, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
I think it requires an indent being over 40 words. Do continuity sections need referencing; as they are merely stating plot occurrences? Thanks for the link, Matty.007 19:42, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Plot summaries don't need to be referenced, but continuity does because it is about showing continuities between episodes which is synthesis. I would say you could get rid of the middle line because the "Doctor who?" is a joke rather than the plot significance sometimes seen, and not particularly notable as it is the title of the program. Reviews are always good for reference, and if you can't find anything and it's not particularly notable to the plot (for instance, the Anti-Grav Olympics may not have been a deliberate reference), it can be taken out. It shouldn't be too hard to reference the Great Intelligence part with reviews from this episode and "The Snowmen". You may also consider adding the significance to "run, you clever boy, and remember", and I'm sure there are sources on that too. Glimmer721 talk 23:41, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
