Disambiguation link notification for March 4

Hi. When you recently edited Doctor Who (series 6), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Williams (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 10:25, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

So now that The Son of Neptune's GAN has finished, is there anything else I should do? WHo should add the GA template to the page? Sorry for bugging you about this but you were involved in the GAN and you seem to be experienced with this. Best, --Kangaroopowah 03:58, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind this. Instead, what should I do with the Talk pages GA Nominee template? --Kangaroopowah 05:11, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, --Kangaroopowah 05:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Thanks so much for helping with the GA review. It might seem like a small thing but it really helped me, a newbie to GAs make the article better. Maybe I'll try for a FA in a little bit :). Kangaroopowah 20:11, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Works for me, I'll start on the article soon :). --Kangaroopowah 21:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Rose Tyler

Thanks for your additions to Rose Tyler :) I didn't have any gameplan, just wanted the article standardised alongside other fiction ones as it should be given it's importance. All the references I carried across were from other wiki articles, and I was aware that it could use more in the last two sections. Any advice on where the focus should be in sourcing more production team/reception information? I'm afraid that I might not be able to contribute much more as I don't have access to back-copies of Doctor Who Magazine or indeed Doctor Who Confidential.

I also noticed you made a couple of other fixes to articles I created so thanks for that too! Eshlare (talk) 20:17, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Just joined WP:CHAR and WP:WHO. I always take Jack Harkness as an authority on what an article should be, especially in relation to TW/DW. I'm relatively new (as a user, although I have decent experience as an IP) and haven't had much feedback on my contributions, so I'm never sure how relevant things are. This is my first strictly Doctor Who related edit too. Maybe if I get one article currently in review up to GA, it'll help my confidence! My concern was that the characterisation section seemed a bit... mechanical in that it deals with the 'what' and not the 'why' and that the reception section was a bit limited and one-sided in regards to series two and four. Some of your edits to Amy have a much better balance, and I'm aware you have worked on a lot of DW episode GA's. Think I exausted other wiki articles for sources so I'll have a look at google news archives. The Lynette Porter book is an excellent resoure, she's used a lot on Jack's article. I wasn't aware of her covering Rose. I'll try and take notes from the entry, and see what is relevant to her characterisation and what her is to the reception.
Regarding Amy, I think the way the appearances section was left is too detailed in comparison to what wikipedia prefers, and not all chronological as to when information is revealed. I'll see what I can do without detracting from essential details. I think it would be valuable to have someone to collaborate on both articles, and maybe try and get either or both to GA status in the process, if you are interested? Eshlare (talk) 23:42, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Very nice user subpage! Like your ideas for featured topics. I had a look around and found this old edit of Adam Mitchell. It wasn't perfect, but it probably jumped the shark to delete it. It's a good base to start at anyway. There's probably a good chance of finding more material, Jenny is a good example of how much can be sourced on a small character. Would Jackie and Mickey, who have their own articles and played a larger role in the narrative for series one come into the Ninth Doctor's box? And Jackie's for Ten? Interested in doing more there. And with Amy/Rory/River. I think for Amy and River they seem 'B-Class' although not sure how to go about getting this updated. I did a couple of small revisions to Amy's appearances and will look at doing Rory in the same vein. It sits better at four main paragraphs rather than six. I didn't want to disrupt anything so didn't cut back further. Added a couple more bits and pieces to Rose. There was lots relevant in the book but probably would have overbalanced to rely heavily on a single non production source. Thanks again for pointing it out to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshlare (talkcontribs) 14:19, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Might be useful

I was searching through some of my bookmarks earlier and found this that I had saved—I'd nabbed it because it's a contemporary news article on an X-Files episode but reading it again it does make good mention of the relationship between Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. I know you were interested in information on that relationship so hopefully that'll be useful to you. GRAPPLE X 01:43, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Re: Fringe

Thanks for the link, I had not seen that piece of news yet. It'll definitely be exciting to see Mader on Fringe. Ruby 2010/2013 00:46, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Doctor Who is on mine. Something tells me it'll take me long to get caught up though ;) Ruby 2010/2013 00:56, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Doctor Who stuff

You were quick with the Rory article yesterday-entered a edit conflict when I tried to start the development section :D Thanks for the Torchwood box. If Rhys gets GA status - meaning to give it another polish - do you reckon I could promote Children of Earth as the main article of a good topic with the four main characters (Gwen, Rhys, Jack, Ianto) whilst stressing it's status as an independent mini-series? Of course that article would need some work done too. Had a look at the guidelines and it does suggest no cherry-picking but I think there's a case for the four characters being the most relevant articles.

Ninth Doctor looks intimidating- very TARDIS wiki in it's approach. I think the ten or so sections need cutting down to three with appropriate subsections. Intending to try and make a start at the weekend after scouring wiki articles and google. This seems a good start as it also mentions defining characteristics as well as his impact. Rose Tyler is looking very healthy and Ninth Doctor as a good topic certainly seems attainable :) It's seven years since the broadcast of Rose next week, and that might be a good note open up the project to WP:WHO to see if anyone has non-internet sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshlare (talkcontribs) 21:07, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the links :) I'll ask there if/once there's a chance of progression. Don't think Children of Earth can be split, like The End of Time, because each episode is defined by the same title and production elements, rather than each being an episode with a seperate identity (It would be like splitting a Dickens novel into it's seperate volumes). Yeah, I was thinking of addressing Series One/Ninth Doctor/Rose together. I don't think the Ninth Doctor article is the place to discuss the era's production independent of the character but discussion of how the character defines the era as a distinct part of Doctor Who history and the legacy of the Ninth Doctor/era in general (laying the foundations for successors) would be relevant. I think structuring it like this like other fictional characters would work. Eshlare (talk) 23:57, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
That's a very good discussion of the character. I found this in relation to his departure which could be a good start. And you could possibly throw in this at a push. 1 (Todd Grimshaw is a character from the UK's longest running soap-opera formerly played by Langely) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshlare (talkcontribs) 21:00, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Only reviews I've found are through the outpost gallifrey archives but the archives aren't consistent in links that are kept. SFX apparently have first series reviews starting here but I can't get their archives to work. I started an Adam Mitchell draft here with the original material but haven't got round to editing. Feel free to do what you want :) Eshlare (talk) 00:44, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
My tenacity with SFX paid off. Found a Rose/Adam comparison in their episode review after eventually managing to access it. Article looking substantial enough to clear mainspace after referencing and clean-ups. Where do you think the BBC America comments should go? :) Eshlare (talk) 09:42, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
I should have access to the commentaries yes. I'll try and get listening to them in preparation for developing relevant articles. Just put Adam Mitchell back in mainspace, which leaves my energies open for developing the Ninth Doctor article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshlare (talkcontribs) 23:32, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks :) I'll have a look at the "Fear Her" commentary over the next few days. I think judging by the O'Sullivan site that most of the information she uses comes from the DWM series two companion magazine, which certainly would be reliable. It's a shame she hasn't used inline citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshlare (talkcontribs) 23:16, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for creating so many Hunger Games pages! I'm working to improve them as well. Have a great day! LovelyEdit (talk) 19:15, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

You're very welcome! Actually, I've only read the first book in the series so far, I'm working on the second one (although I've already become a fan). I'm editing minor mistakes in all Hunger Games pages. ~ LovelyEdit (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:10, 30 March 2012 (UTC).
