Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Godmadeuniverse1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Rio Dell, California does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  —Darkwind (talk) 04:02, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, that welcome message didn't say exactly what I was hoping for. Making an edit specifically for the purpose of changing the terms already in use in an article from "same-sex" and "opposite-sex" to "heterosexual" and "homosexual" can be seen as trying to push a particular point of view in violation of the NPOV policy. The *-sexual terms are more politically charged, and are less neutral. Please do not edit articles specifically to insert these less neutral terms. Thank you. —Darkwind (talk) 04:04, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Rio Dell, California, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you! -- Logan Talk Contributions 15:45, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring after a review of the reverts you have made on Rio Dell, California. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.

Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.Darkwind (talk) 21:07, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at Rio Dell, California[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, as you did at Rio Dell, California. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

The complete report of this case is at WP:AN3#User:Godmadeuniverse1 reported by User:Darkwind (Result: 48h). EdJohnston (talk) 23:40, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no autoblock on your account so far as I can tell. Open up Wikipedia:Sandbox and try to save a trivial edit. If you can save a change there, you are not blocked. EdJohnston (talk) 05:24, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Your reason here Godmadeuniverse1 (talk) 16:17, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. --jpgordon::==( o ) 16:33, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Heterosexual and homosexual are in the dictionary. Political pressure could have been put on the census bureau. The amount of straight people and homosexuals should not be on pages about towns and cities. 'Same-sex' isn't neutral and uses the word sex when homosexuality is the opposite of sex. Your terms are distortions not accurate or neutral and your trying to push your 'Neutral Point Of View' which is not 'Neutral'.

Request reason:

Your reason here Godmadeuniverse1 (talk) 17:05, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If that is your reason avove, I don't think it is sufficient to unblock you.. Homosexuality is not the opposite of sex. We do try to push a Neutral Point Of View WP:NPOV. That means we adopt and try to maintain a neutral tone in articles, and not one biased by company allegiance, religious affiliation, sexual orientation or any other such consideration. Please could you keep unblock requests or other comments in their chronological order, as it makes life much easier for us. On the other hand, it isn't compulsory.... Peridon (talk) 17:19, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Heterosexual and homosexual are in the dictionary and define 2 opposing views of sexuality.

Decline reason:

The same rationale was already declined above. To be specific, though, you must address the reason for your block. You were edit warring to keep your preferred version of Rio Dell, California, so please tell us what you are going to do about your behavior. —DoRD (talk) 20:03, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
