Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, ThadeusOfNazereth(he/him)Talk to Me! 18:42, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Short descriptions[edit]

Thank you for adding Short descriptions to articles. However many of these are far too long. The current guidelines at WP:SDSHORT talk about a limit of around 40 characters. Please read the full guidelines at WP:SDCONTENTGhostInTheMachine talk to me 21:09, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to reiterate this suggestion to read the Wikipedia:Short description guidelines again. In particular, many of your short descriptions contain initial articles (A, An, The) which should be left out "except when required for correct grammar and meaning" (see WP:SDFORMAT and also WP:SDEXAMPLES) (not the case for any of the ones you added). Also, while your SDs have become shorter, some are now too short or general to be useful or helpful. SDs like "[A] protocol" (for Interlock protocol), "[A] machine" (for Ballast cleaner), "[A] fascia" (for Iliac fascia), "Hypothesis" (for Weyl curvature hypothesis), or "[A] prevalent concept" (for Love of God in Christianity) are just some examples I found in your last 100 edits. So, please read WP:SHORTDESC again and make sure that your short descriptions fulfill the purposes stated there. Thank you! Felida97 (talk) 18:49, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, now that I have looked at even more of your added short descriptions, I want to urge you to not write SDs by just taking whatever is in the first sentence up to a certain point. This method will lead to pretty bad SDs such as this, this, this, this, this or this. Please put more effort into crafting a useful short description, thank you. Short descriptions[edit]

I've reverted a number of your recent short description additions as they are too long and not following the proper format. Please check out WP:SDESC and ensure short descriptions are concise, and aren't direct copies from the text. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 19:14, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Golden Freddy3124 same thing- please stop copying directly from the text, it makes many editors have to clean up after you. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 22:51, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Help:Preferences, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.

You are still adding terrible short descriptions with exactly the same issues that I pointed out in November (see User talk:Golden Freddy3124#Short descriptions). I'm going to especially reiterate: DO NOT write SDs by just taking whatever is in the first sentence up to a certain point word for word. This method will lead to pretty bad SDs such as this, this, this, this, or this (all examples from the last 48 hours). Felida97 (talk) 23:08, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize how long this has continued for... with the lack of response, I might consider ANI soon. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 01:54, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is exactly what I planned/thought, if they continued like that after these recent warnings, because their editing is just disruptive at this point. So, @Golden Freddy3124, if you do not adjust to your short description editing and at least react in some way to the repeated valid criticisms on this page, we will find ourselves at WP:ANI soon. Felida97 (talk) 10:48, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Golden Freddy3124 Just had to deal with another. Last chance, please recognize you've seen this. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 07:32, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. You have been warned many times, and at this point your short description changes have become very disruptive. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 01:55, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
