Hey! Glad to see you are back! Hope your wikibreak when well. :) As far as the bot is concerned, I would be happy to resume our project. Here is a quick debreif on the changes:

  • The only change I made to the code from the last time I ran it was some change to further generalize the code, which is yet untested, but I am hoping to test it on the next run.
  • As you can see from User:AlyBot/PlayerList, some of the pages have been created by other people.
  • Also, 10 pages from the last run are in the bot's namespace as per Special:Contributions/AlyBot.
  • Also, on one of the pages created, this edit by User:Wizardman was made [1] (I have all the pages that the bot created watchlisted)
  • The two pages that the bot wasn't able to create was because their entries don't exist on DatabaseFootball (if I remember correctly from 2 months back)

Hey! Here you go, something for you to work on. The pages were created with large interval in between to account for the code changes I was committing, and general bugfixes. I did realize something today, that 2TM, and 3TM actually meant 2 teams and 3 teams at databasefootball.com :), so I had to sat down and iron out the code for that. There are 2 extremely minor bug lefts, but it shouldn't hamper us too much. Although, I will try to get them fixed ASAP. Overall, I fixed many bugs, including a stupidity in the template of adding </br>, which means nothing as far as HTML is concerned :). So, I went back and fixed the pages where this way still lying around. All in all, I think I have generally improved the code. The bot is now also able to detect if there are more than 1 colleges, and splits it up correctly (if it can detect it properly). The categories are now alphabetically ordered (most of the time), and I should be committing the code to properly adding the word "and" to the last item in the list of teams which is present in the text itself. And in order to account for these changes, I had to manually modify some of the pages created by the bot (since I am too lazy to go back to my code, and turn off some of the checks I am doing to prevent duplicate page creation). Again, there is no rush to complete this, so take your time in completing all of this. Also, FYI, the page for Charlie Leigh has been created. And, also, in User:AlyBot/PlayerList, item number 613 is University of Auburn, which I presume is a typo. Apart from that, I think that is all. Have fun! Other than that, a few changes were made, as you might have noticed. I have a prebuilt list of states now, that I can replace in, to eventually bypass the redirects. Also I have a prebuilt list of player positions, which it recognizes. However, a few of them, it wasn't able to recognize. I will post the list it wasn't able to decipher later as I am going to bed now, so that you can give me a heads up on them, and I can feed them into my bot to reduce the amount of work you do! Hey. Just wanted to let you know about this - removing the pages from the given categories, "rm from polluted categories" (I don't quite understand what he means by polluted categories). While I understand that the pages are immediately listed in the categories page, they would be eventually moved the mainspace soon. Do you want me to comment the "categories" part in the template I am running to stop it from listing in the given categories, which could be then later uncommented when you are moving them to the mainspace. Steven Appiah - protection[edit]

Thanks for protecing the page it has been the subject of lots of vandalism of late.

Before you protected the page you appear to have changed his current club status from 'Tottenham Hotsput (Trial)' to 'Celtic' - this information is incorrect, someone has repeatedly been vanadlising the page to say Appiah has moved to Celtic when in fact he is on trial at Tottenham and played a friendly for them today (14th Jan). Packer article creation[edit]

Thanks for doing a great job and creating a stub article for all the Packer players! One suggestion, could you add a category for their collegiate play? Could you please explain more fully...[edit]

Another contributor placed a speedy delete not on The Political Quarterly. It was deleted, and you undeleted it.

I noticed that the article creator placed a {{hangon}} on the article, after the speedy. I am curious, and I'd like to read the note the article creator left on the talk page. If they left a note on the talk page is there a reason why it wasn't restored as well?

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:National Football League image pages]] to pages that belong in it.

I tagged the category. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of tagging and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to remove the tag if you wish. However, removing the tag will not prevent deletion of the category if it remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

You deleted my photo inappropriately[edit]

Gonzo has left and is not an admin any more. I can tell you why he deleted it. The original image was specified on flickr as Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0. NonCommericial images are not allowed. The other 2 criteria are allowed. So the image had a license incompatible with Wikipedia. To remedy this, you would need to convince the flickr photographer [17] to removed the Non Commercial criteria. It literally would have to be changed on the photograph on flickr - we don't take people's word for it. Then you would need to agree to using ShareAlike and Attribution (but not Non-Commercial) for your cropping of the image. If you do all of these things, then we could use the image.
