Moving the details of the Monza debacle

Hi, i just wanted to ask why the monza stuff shouldn't be on the main page of the 2012 superbike world championship page. It was a major event in this season which led to possible ramifications further down the line. If you look at other articles such as the formula one articles 2012 Formula One season it contains a brief overview of every round within the main content of the page, as an article it might be a little too long but its in a style that paints a much better picture than all the current superbike articles do. A page should tell a story of that championship year not just be a set of tables with results in them. (in my opinion) Just like to hear your opinion as i think it would help if editors added more context to the results Cheers, Xrateddan (talk) 18:16, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello mr..16 lap race in Australia, Fiat did not sponsor the team Yamaha Motor Racing. Abarth is substituted. The situation was similar in 2005 at the Laguna Seca round and Valencia. This is because in 2005, on lap 8 and 17 were adjusted to the Yamaha Factory Racing..In 2005 the majority of sponsors are Gauloises Yamaha. American birth records

Just to confirm that I am looking at the above. I didn't want to put it up at the main JH talk page but I've found most, if not all, of the family on social media which confirms their name-spellings (sometimes there are transcriptional differences). His mother quotes 'from London, lives in Ramona'. There is a pic from John's bday with mum quipping "it was for John's birthday, even had a Mechanical bull. I did not partake in that!", but annoyingly no indication when ('cept the pic was added 21 July). It's a bit confusing when nothing firm can be found in the UK records, but once I have a definite framework of individuals I can begin to think outside the box, as in relative-ages and two families coming together with step-children using the name of the 'new' father. I don't know what to make out of the birth entry to Ms. Gillett, as Los Angeles County is a fair few miles from the greater San Diego area where they were, and still are, located. Similarly, I don't know what to make from the MotoGP.com entry.

I've had a similar situation when expanding the 1964 ISDT prose for Steve McQueen where WP:OR has been used to establish his mate Bud Ekin's page back in 2006, and still needing better-sourcing. Someone wanted to associate him with a bad-ass 650, whereas everything period I have in the house indicates it was team-mate Cliff Coleman who rode the 650, and Ekins had a 490.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 12:07, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

@Rocknrollmancer: no problem, it's a quite complicated issue; as for me, I don't think I can help more, I have also tried to investigate a bit but with no result; as for Los Angeles/San Diego counties, it's my fault, I made some confusion between those counties, so the match is actually with the birth date only (and for sure this doesn't help). –Gpmat (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

OK, thanks for your input. I've just tried to Google his father's alleged TT exploits and the same queries abound, one suggestion is that he won a race - either TT or Manx Grand Prix - but was disqualified as underage. Another thing I learned is that there was a chap racing in the Isle of Man at age 80+, when I thought there was a limit on ACU licences of 50 or 55! I'm thinking Billown Circuit is a non-ACU event. Query on lap record setting conditions

Could you please look at this change at Snetterton Circuit from a new-ish editor? Has been written to assert a that a lap record was set during a practice session, not a race. The citation included seems a bit waffly. I have reverted one change (where prose was deleted) and improved it, but I was not totally sure that absolute lap records could only be set during race conditions? @Rocknrollmancer: as far as I know, 'official' lap records are those set during a race. BSB timekeepers as of today still list Snetterton lap record (here at page 2) as 1:47.882, which was set in a 2014 race (this one). –Gpmat (talk) 20:31, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Sachsenring map

Since you provided the image of the new circuit layout in the Catalan GP article, could you also kindly update the turn numbers of the Sachsenring image? Hello, I really admire your work for creating layout images especially for MotoGP and World SBK tracks. Is it also possible to create images for the older layouts of Sachsenring for 1996–1997, 1998–1999, and 2000 layouts? I know those Sachsenring maps are still missing; when I tried to create them in the past, I was never fully satisfied by online sources, so the lack of valuable references (e.g. aerial images, official maps, ...) forced me to give up. Actual status of riders who did not restart

What are they actually, DNS or Ret? I see that some GP articles around 2016-17 (maybe even earlier) list them as "Ret" while more recent ones (2020s) list them as DNS. For example, Simone Corsi is listed as DNS in the 2021 Valencian Community motorcycle Grand Prix table so he only has 14 starts in 2021 (per his article), but in his MotoGP.com profile, he has 15 starts in 2021 listed by MotoGP, and checking on those starts (see the PLACEMENTS tab), the 2021 Valencian race is included (although his status there listed is "NOTSTARTED", which is some sort of dilemma to be honest). In my opinion, I say that we consider those who started race 1 but did not start race 2 (or subsequent races) as "Ret", just to be consistent with MotoGP website. Also, in practice, MotoGP doesn't add in the race reports the ones who actually did not start a race, and since those that did not restart are listed in the race report, that just shows that they are listed as Ret by MotoGP. What do you think on this though? I'm asking you because you are primarily the one adding race results in GP articles. Thanks! ^{Engr. Smitty Werben} 16:00, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Jerez circuit corner names

Hi again. Could you update the current Jerez circuit map (or upload a new one) by changing turn 6 from "Curva Dry Sac" to "Curva Pedrosa"? Per MotoGP itself and the 2022 map shown here. Although per the circuit's official website, they're using the full names of the riders so I think we should use the full names of Pedrosa and Lorenzo in corners 6 and 13, respectively. Also, would it be okay for you to tell me which app/software/website that you use to create these maps? New Silverstone map (again)

New Losail map

Hello, Despite I am aware that the main layout form of Losail International Circuit has not changed, there are two another layouts were built within the main layout this year. So, it could be better for showing the newer version map of this circuit with indicating the other layouts. Could you make and upload a newer version of Losail circuit map?
