Speedy deletion nomination of Copycatt[edit]

Hello Graph1xx,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Copycatt for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Sjrct (talk) 15:51, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I noticed that you tagged Copycatt with WP:CSD#A3. This was not entirely appropriate, because that tag is meant for pages which have no content. If you want to request deletion on something that you created, you could ask an administrator, or use a WP:CSD#G7 tag. Please let me know if you have any questions. User:Graph1xx That was my fault, sorry, he fixed and changed that, but while editing I had accidentally copied the source code whilst editing with an older page version, basically saving that again and changing that back to the no content notice thing, so that's my bad, sorry

Graph1xx, no worries. You do, however, still need to show that the subject of the article is notable, the most basic way being demonstrating that it meets WP:GNG. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 17:39, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Vanamonde93, I put a link to an article on Triple J Unearthed about the winner of the "Contest" (I bet that's not enough though :\)
Vanamonde93, Here are the links just incase.
https://soundcloud.com/triple_j/maa-play-school-winner-for-soundcloudwav
http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/musicnews/s4478331.htm

Well, you have the right idea, but it isn't enough: it is not an important enough contest that it would grant notability by itself, and it isn't important enough to generate much news coverage either. Facebook and soundcloud links don't help much either: see WP:PRIMARY and WP:RS. Why don't you read up on WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO, and see whether you can find anything that fits those. If the article ends up deleted, don't get discouraged, first articles are often doubtful. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 17:57, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Vanamonde93, Ok, thank you for the help so far :)
Vanamonde93, I just realized that he was also played on nation wide radio, along with the notice that he won the contest, so maybe that would be another point on the criteria for notability.

A tag has been placed on File:Copycatt at the set of an Australian kids show.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
