July 2011[edit]

Hello Greenantreview. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Party planner, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 18:46, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Our"? Sorry, an account can only be used by a single person[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; you are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you.

Additionally, it appears your account is intended to be used for more than one person. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.

In a single post: "Thanks for your comments for our article. I am a writer so dont have a connection as such with the subject, just write about this area. Our reference we wrote was not associated with us." (emphasis added) --[[User:Orangemike| Bolding letters in my initial post and marking it emphasis added is not helpful communication. Could you advise me how I might start editting things with you approval? Greenantreview (talk) 20:25, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Orange Mike]] | Talk 19:15, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am an individual, I am currently at home. I work for an organisation but so do many people. I wrote that reply speedily and I had a friend sitting next to me so apologies if I should have put "I". I am new to Wikipedia and trying to contribute to an article that currently is not being forwarded to the correct source so I thought I would ammend it. You cannot expect new authors to get everything right immediately, or this wouldnt be a publicly contributable encyclopedia, it would be closed off for html web coders which wouldnt be in the interests of public knowledge.

Decline reason:

You make a somewhat valid point, but the fact remains that your name appears to represent an organization, in violation of our username policy. Since there is an organization called "Green Ant Creative Events" [1] that does do party planning it seems pretty obvious. As was indicated in your initial block notice, you are free to abandon this account and start a new one with a name that does not violate our username policy Beeblebrox (talk) 17:57, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
