singer/songwriter

Hi, thanks for your contributions. It's "singer-songwriter", and should not generally be linked. Tony (talk) 02:03, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Kevin Costner into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. This applies to Yorgos Lanthimos too. Yet again you have failed to provide attribution or an edit summary explaining why your removing/moving content. Please stop ignoring this advice and perhaps start communicating with editors. - JuneGloom07 Talk 17:50, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Several things and reminders

Hi. Several things:

  • Please stop linking countries like Belgium on articles. Everybody knows that Belgium is a country. We don't link to counties per WP:OVERLINK. You have been told this before.
  • All songs are basically released for streaming now as well. When you add formats for a single, most likely you should be adding streaming as a format alongside digital download.
  • For websites, the correct parameter in references is website=, not publisher=. A website is usually not a publisher.
  • You have previously been told that not every Eurovision act you love needs an article for every single one of their songs, yet you're still making stubs for songs that charted quite low, even in the artist's home country, with a grand total of three references on the entire page. For a song that's over a year old. If the song came out in 2018 and the most you can find is one lowly Belgian chart peak and a YouTube link as a reference, I would suggest you not bother about making the article. Find topics that have enough coverage and focus on those instead. Thank you. Ss112 05:53, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

Rather Be (song) listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Rather Be (song). Since you had some involvement with the Rather Be (song) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. — Newslinger talk 02:01, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Overlinking and slash

Hi, please don't link common terms like "singer-songwriter", and avoid the slash (/). Tony (talk) 03:08, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Uploading images

Hi. Please resize images before you upload them. All the images you have uploaded since 2017 have been resized by a bot for being too large. You can resize them online (Google how to resize images if you are unsure on how to), using Microsoft Paint or whichever simple image editing program you have on your computer. 300×300 pixels is the ideal size, and PNG is the preferred format. You can convert JPGs to PNGs using Paint or online websites as well. Thank you. Ss112 10:29, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

As I said above, PNG is the preferred format...but you're still uploading JPGs. Ss112 15:24, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Snacks (Supersize)

Please do not add this album to all the single articles. It was already removed because those singles were released in promotion of and/or first included on the Snacks EP. They're only being included on Jones's full-length debut album. If you have any objections, please raise them in a discussion at a relevant article talk page. Thank you. Stop adding unsourced genres

You do not get a free pass to add unsourced genres just because you started an article. You recently made several articles for Sam Fender's songs and you seem to think it's okay to classify him as heartland rock or whatever the hell you like. No. Keep doing this and I will warn you with templates. You've been doing this for years and the message has not sunk in yet. Also, stop creating articles for every little song that charts on any kind of UK chart. You add nothing else to the pages, so they are not notable per WP:NSONGS. I can't remember the last time you expanded an article with a news article. Ss112 16:53, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

Is it actually impossible for you to leave edit summaries?

Why on Earth are you not leaving edit summaries when you remove 16,000 bytes of content from an article like Lewis Capaldi? Users who only looked at that page's history and not your contributions would not know what you have done. Leave an edit summary explaining that you have split the content or I will revert you in future. You can speaka English, so there is no reason you cannot leave at least a simple edit summary explaining what you've done. Ss112 17:51, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Unnecessary changes to content you copied from Lewis Capaldi to Lewis Capaldi discography

Firstly, you should not be changing note styles just because you copied content from another article. The notes that were used on Capaldi's main article before you copied and removed it were upper-alpha footnotes and for some reason, you saw fit to change them all to lowercase and define them at the end after the move. This was not a helpful change and was entirely unnecessary. Secondly, if the main chart of a country has no entries but a component chart of that nation does, we do not (and it is not helpful) to list all of them as footnotes. We should change the column to match what the component chart is per the logic detailed regarding the US Hot 100/Bubbling Under Hot 100 on WP:USCHARTS. Columns do not have to match exactly in every section; discographies should ideally list a selection of nations where the artist was most successful. These can vary by section. You exchanged Belgium for New Zealand in the singles section despite the fact Belgium is a bigger market than NZ and Capaldi has more entries there, including on the Ultratip chart. This has been reverted. Leave edit summaries detailing your changes and reasoning in future or they will be reverted outright. Thank you. Ss112 13:49, 27 September 2019 (UTC)

One chart position is not enough for an article

Please stop creating articles for songs that have very little news coverage and have only charted on one chart. Even after my numerous messages to you on this very topic, you still seem to think one chart position—on a New Zealand chart that isn't even the main Top 40—necessitates creating an article for a song. It doesn't. Okay Okay and October (Alessia Cara song) are weak articles, and you literally had to quote an entire paragraph written by Cara on the article for "October" to make it look like there's more content there than there is. You need to be more discerning with the articles you do create. Ss112 22:28, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
