July 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your changes to Biomass, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Growmore", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website. Please note that Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or shared by multiple people. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Growmore Biotech is connected with Beema Bamboo which you are promoting on WP. This is your last warning. The next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Biomass, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You continue to push the bamboo product associated with your company, but have failed to provide sources or discuss problems with your addition. E8 (talk) 16:54, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident in which you may be involved. Thank you.--E8 (talk) 19:14, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

  • Hi User Growmore. There's about fifty Beema Bamboo news articles. However, most of them are press releases to Business Line, Market News Publishing, Market Wire, M2 Presswire, etc. There's a few legit reliable source articles, but some of those probably are press release inspired, leaving little reliable source material from which to develop a Wikipedia article on the topic. Even for editors who know how to write a Wikipedia article, it would be difficult to wade through the published info about Beema Bamboo to put together a Beema Bamboo article that meets WP:GNG. Growmore Biotech appears to have a better chance of getting past WP:GNG and reliable source info about Beema Bamboo probably could be put in there. If you decide to create a new user account and convince a Wikipedia administrator that you intend to make useful contributions to Wikipedia, you may be able to develop, as a user space draft, a Wikipedia Growmore Biotech article. If you do, you should not use press releases, info from the Growmore Biotech website, etc. as source material or other source material that is connected to Growmore Biotech. If you develop an article on Growmore Biotech that includes enough coverage in reliable sources that are independent of Growmore Biotech (see WP:GNG) and the article includes Wikipedia:Inline citations and is not written in a way to promote Growmore Biotech, Wikipedia editors likely will support inclusion of Growmore Biotech in Wikipedia as a stand-alone article. As for article format, you may want to use a FA-Class or GA-Class company article as a template for how the Growmore Biotech article should look. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 15:09, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
