Georgia’s campaign of terror 1999-2003[edit]

I removed this material because we need to write in a neutral fashion in Wikipedia. Please review Wikipedia's policy on the neutral point of view. I suspect the material involved here is basically correct, but it needs to be written in a more even-handed and less inflammatory manner. Please feel free to open up a discussion of this on the talk page for the article. Richwales (talk) 16:26, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with you. But can I ask your help in this? There is a decision of the European court about that case. --Gufido (talk) 11:12, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christianity in Japan#Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Japan[edit]

Hey Gufido, never got around to thanking you for your contributions to Christianity in Japan. In particular, I appreciate the attention to detail and refs, and I liked some of the facts you added, e.g. about JW being banned in Japan prior to the Occupation. I'm still holding my breath for the inevitable IP/new user flood for that section... anyway, if you have thoughts or concerns, feel free to express them here or on the talk page.

I wanted to ask a question. I re-organized the section on the Eastern Orthodox Church, and I noticed there were multiple figures for number of members; 9,000, and 36,000. The actual article on the Japanese Orthodox Church has 25,000. Unfortunately neither of these three figures has a source! Since I believe you added the 36,000 figure, I wanted to ask if you had any insight where we might be able to find a source for the current membership of the Orthodox church in Japan. Thanks!

An orthodox priest said in this interview: about 30,000. [1] [2] --Gufido (talk) 21:07, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

October 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Taber, Alberta appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Meters (talk) 03:55, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Are you serious? Tamara Mumford is a famous opera singer in the Metropolitan Opera and meets the notability criteria for personalities, "for example, having performed two lead roles at major opera houses" (WP:NMUSIC). Can be the Metropolitan Opera considered as a major opera house? --Gufido (talk) 00:56, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes I'm serious. Are you? Does she have a Wikipedia article? No. Did you provide any references to show her notability? No. Did you provide any sources to show her connection to Taber? No. If you wish to add someone without an article to a list of notable people, it is up to the person adding the entry to either WP:WTAF or provide sources in the entry to show that the person would clearly qualify for an article if one were written. You did neither. Meters (talk) 01:33, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • And of course, in a case such as this one, you also need to provide a reliable source showing the person's connection to the town, which you also didn't do. Meters (talk) 01:37, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thank you for the explanation! When I have time I will do that. --Gufido (talk) 02:24, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
