Request reason:

I have noticed that I was unable to edit anything on wikipedia despite my good standing with the site, I would like to request an unblock for this account as I have done nothing wrong so far and it was perhaps due to a recent botnet attack on my ip a while back (which was responsible for sending spam) Gyrbot (talk) 8:55 pm, Today (UTC−4)

Alright here is the source of the message:

You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia. You can still read pages, but you cannot edit or create them. Editing from 24.84.0.0/16 has been disabled by Bsadowski1 for the following reason(s):

CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address or network has been used against

Wikipedia's policies (not necessarily by you). It has been blocked to prevent further abuse. See below for how you can edit Wikipedia if you get this message.

While Wikipedia tries to be open, in some exceptional cases it may unfortunately be necessary to block a range of IP addresses or entire network to prevent editing by abusers, vandals, and block evaders. Range blocks can affect users who have not done anything wrong; if you are a legitimate user, please follow the instructions below to edit despite the block. Otherwise you may appeal the block here.

IP users (without an account): If you do not currently have a account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. Please use this form or email us to request an account under your preferred username. It is important that you use an email address issued to you by your ISP, school or organization so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. If using the form, please reference this block under "comments".

Registered users (with an account): If you already have an account in good standing, please follow these instructions. You may also request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.

Administrator note: CheckUsers are privy to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy, and therefore must be consulted before this block can be removed. Administrators undoing checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser risk having their administrator rights removed by the Arbitration Committee. See this post for more information.

This block has been set to expire: 05:16, 28 September 2011.

Even if blocked, you will usually still be able to edit your user talk page and contact other editors and administrators by e-mail.

Note: Please use the [show] links across from each header to show more information.Gyrbot (talk) 01:07, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It does not look like you are blocked directly. I can't help you without knowing how you are blocked. Please copy the exact message. -- DQ (t) (e) 01:04, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Actually, you were blocked because your username implies you are a bot account. —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M

Hehe, my name can sound like a bot sometimes, it was one of those childhood names I had for some of my personal creations, if it was possible, can it be unblocked if possible? Gyrbot (talk) 01:02, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am talking to the blocking admin about the block right now. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- DQ (t) (e) 01:16, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • This has now been changed to a soft block and should not affect you. Happy editing. -- DQ (t) (e) 01:27, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
