Hey Estavisti. I trust you know more about Yugoslavia than I do, but I noticed you blanked the page for Instrukcije. If you think the article should be deleted (I have no idea if it's legitimate or not), you might want to post it on Votes for Deletion. Thanks. -JJLeahy 04:39, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tesla[edit]

OK, So what is it with you! I'm trying to be as neutral and polite as I can, not to bring up any more contraversy then there is, but you insist on reverting Nikola Tesla to be ONLY Serbian-American inventor, do you have any kind of Croatophobia??! Are you ashamed of your ancestors or what?! Vladimirko 19:16, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for my reaction, but some of reverts (not done by you) have made me realy mad! I'we seen that you moderated some excesive changes, and thank you for that... Could there be an agreemant made to leave out any geographical, nativity and/or national reference in an opening article! Vladimirko 19:30, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mihailovic page[edit]

Hey. I think you might have gone a little bit too far in excising the contributions made by Bosniaco to the Mihailovic article. For the most part they were well written and rebalanced the POV. In any case, we should try and come up with some kind of agreement on how to incorporate his changes into the article rather than simply removing them. --tracer_bullet 15:01, July 12, 2005 (UTC)

Serb portal[edit]

Of course, I like the idea! Sooner or later, Serbs are definitely going to have their portal on en: - only question is when. I'll talk with the guys both on IRC channel (visit sr: IRC), and on our live meetings, to see who is interested, and in which way can help. Only problem is whether we have reached "critical mass" of users to start it just now. -- Obradović Goran (talk 23:17, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Btw, I saw that you have informed some other users from SCG about your idea. You missed to contact Zocky, who is one of the most active users on en: from Serbia (he lives in Slovenia) -- Obradović Goran (talk 23:17, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to setup Serbia and Montenegro portal (as a country portal). It seems that Zocky has been away for a while, though, but I am sure he'll help when he's around, and let you guys know. --Dejan Čabrilo 00:57, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, let's wait for a while and see how many people will participate. Though, I strongly urge to create Serbia and Montenegro, instead of just Serbia portal. There isn't much good in alienating people from Montenegro :) --Dejan Čabrilo 01:00, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree and want to participate in that portal.

I agree with the idea. However, I don't think that SCG portal is better then Serbian. There is a sense to make Serbian (language based or ethnical), ex-YU (similar cultures) or Serbia, Montenegro and RS/BiH (ethnical), or for ex-SC speaking people (language based), but SCG portal is nowhere (because there is no SCG nation). --millosh (talk (sr:)) 03:46, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The more the marrier. If there is enough folks to create something like "Western Balkans" portal, I'll go with that. However, I have a strong feeling that Serbian Portal will soon become Serbian Orthodox Christian Portal. Besides, at least I can't really contribute much to "Serbian Ethnic" portal, as I don't know much about Serbian ethnicity. Also, Serbia and Montenegro is one country (at least, for now), which would cover politics, culture, geography, etc. --Dejan Čabrilo 04:21, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Serbian portal would naturally include everything about SCG so your knowledge will be useful there. And why excluding Montenegro? Nikola 16:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Serbian Wikipedia didn't become "Serbian Orthodox Christian Wikipedia" and there is no reason that some Serbian Portal becomes "Serbian Orthodox Portal". (Or you think that it is necessarly that Croatian Portal would become "Croatian Catholic Christian Portal" or that Bosniak Portal would become "Bosniak Sunite Muslim Portal"...?) Serbian culture (as well as in the sense of ethnicity) exists, but SCG culture doesn't exist. (It seems that you know a lot about SCG nation...) And I don't think that SCG geography is so much relevant to make portal only about that. Montenegrin culture exists, too; but I don't think so that cultures (as well as politics) from Serbia and Montenegro are more related then cultures (and politics) from Serbia and RS/BH; etc. --millosh (talk (sr:)) 07:25, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Cultures from Serbia and Montenegro" is relevant term as "Cultures from the northern part of USA" is. Montenegro and Serbia have different politics; cultures and languages in SCG are cultures and languages of Balkan... So, the idea of "SCG national portal" is relevant only to US foreign policy. --millosh (talk (sr:)) 07:25, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

So, we need at least two portals. One Serbian and one wider (ex-YU, ex-SC, Balkan...?). However, if you really want to make SCG portal, you have my support because I think that all people should have portal where they can talk even about US foreign policy related to SCG. --millosh (talk (sr:)) 07:25, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is a hard question, because a SCG portal would be pretty much useless unless it included the Serb Republic, the history of Serbs in Croatia/Hungary etc (i.e. unless it was a de facto pan-Serbian portal). Personally I think an ex-YU portal would make more sense but I doubt any other group (Croats, Slovenes) would want to be grouped together with Serbs/Yugoslavia (their loss...). However, there's no reason not to sound them out. BTW, if I don't reply for a while, it's because, with my customary bad timing, I made this proposal two days before going away for a month --estavisti 11:00, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The idea is nice, though I myself don't use portals much. But now when I'm looking at this palestinian portal I like it very much :) I'm not sure I could do it though. If/when it is done, I also think it should be Serb portal, not SCG portal. Nikola 19:33, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so if "Serbian ethnic" portal was created, which topics would it cover? --Dejan Čabrilo 07:12, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Same topic as other portals. Introduction, featured article, article of the week, portal news, categories... Nikola 16:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I've been on a vacation. Naravno da želim srpski portal. --Dungodung 07:13, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Sorry, I have been absent for a month. --Ninam 00:45, 20 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

OK I give a full support. Couple of days ago I suggested the same thing on Serbian wiki not knowing it's being discussed in here. I gave some examples of what we should be taking as a good example. I'll just copy paste it in here.

I think Israeli one is the best except of the news part. Anyway like I wrote in Serbian I think the combination of Israeli and Plaestine portals would be the best solution.

Serbia and Montegro articles[edit]

Hi, I see you're in the category for those Wikipedians from Serbia & Montenegro. I'm trying to create a project whereby seperate articles for just Serbia OR Montenegro are written to an acceptable level, especially considering the possibility that 2006 may see the two nations seperate and become independent states. If that were to occur Wikipedia should have articles written to the standard of other national articles. It would be useful to have the input of Wikipedians living in the area. Please post any views here, not at my talk page. Thank You Grunners 18:24, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You've violated the WP:3RR policy today on this article. I'm going to give you a warning here but that's a blockable offense and if you make another revert I'm going to think very hard about a short block. Please, stop reverting....at this point the word usage needs to be worked out on the talk page. Rx StrangeLove 00:42, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Premestanje clanaka[edit]

Nikola 22:01, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! Glad you liked the business about Tall Slavs. To be honest with you, I'm only talking from about 70% experience - my biggest ambition is to silence my Dutch friends who think that people from Southern Europe MAINLY Yugoslavia are ALL shorties... all right, these Dutch lads are big but I know that down the Balkans - they are the biggest. Now I'll tell you where I have been and where I havn't within that region...

Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje, Savnik and Zabljak plus villages - these I'd say are NORTH and not WEST as such.... they are mostly HUGE

Niksic - not particularly tall though a few

Podgorica, Cetinje, Danilovgrad - quite short really, like Belgrade if that (but I kept quiet there) the coastline - not much different to Podgorica

Berane Rozaje Ivangrad etc (east) - short I am afraid to say...

Trebije - ABSOLUTELY HUGE

Dubrovnik - Bigg-(ish)

Split - A bit bigger...

...on the whole, I thought Northern Montenegero did it BUT...here is where I havn't been (yet): Kolashin, Herzeg-Novi, Ulcinj and Bar (on the coast, I've been to Tivat and Budva only)...

Dubrovnik, yes - Neum - yes, Split - yes , north of Split, they tend to shorten again... it's wierd but I am interested, can you please tell me the towns where MonteHerzegoCroatoSerbos (or whatever) are actually tall... I'll then do research!

BTW, I'm told they are larger than life in Croatian Lika, both Croats AND Serbs - is this true? I havn't been there yet...Celtmist

...if you could, I'd love that - to upload the map.... any way you can point out exactly which regions are tall? I mean I never understood, north-western Montenegro - it is diamond shaped, so there can only be north, south, east west and central - no north west or south-east! or did you mean NORTH plus WEST? and which is Old Herzegovina? and does the southern strip mean Split? or just the part south of Neum, Bosnia? I guess 185 is allright, probably a bit below average as so many blokes there from your way are over 2 metres... Celt

Serbophobia[edit]

Unfortunately I didn't quite understand you objection in your edit comment. Please restate it more clearly, in talk:Serbophobia page, without reference to antisemitism. mikka (t) 03:56, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Well, other "pseudophobia" articles must be fixed as well. I doubt that someone was treated from Russophobia in a psycho clinic. Mlogo bre jezika govoriš[edit]

Uh bre, što si izobrazovan. Kolko jezika samogovoriš!... Mlogo bre, mlogo.

Ono o tvojoj prostoti.

Tebe i tebi slične sam nazvao četnicima u komentaru o Ruđeru Boškoviću. Stojim iza toga i to ću ponovit.

Boscovich -- 3RR warning[edit]

Hello, I blocked Jakiša Tomić for violating the three-revert rule on the Rudjer Boscovich article. You came close to violating it yourself, reverting it 4 times in 27 hours, 49 minutes, as follows:

I am warning you to settle the dispute on the talk page before making more reverts, otherwise you will most likely also be blocked for continuing the disruptive edit war. — Apr. 5, '06 [00:17] <freakofnurxture|talk>

It appears that there are other editors of that article who regularly dance around the limits of the 3RR. Persistant "gaming" with the 3RR is also a blockable offense. If somebody is in violation, or simply disruptive in general, you should report them at WP:AN3 rather than risking a block on yourself also. — Apr. 6, '06 [06:37] <freakofnurxture|talk>
I also noticed that you have not posted to the article's talk page even once (see history), so I'm not confident that the discussion on the talk page has been adequately explored. — Apr. 6, '06 [06:40] <freakofnurxture|talk>

licenca[edit]

PANONIAN (talk) 15:15, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Iron Curtain[edit]

Are you saying that Yugoslavia should get its own color. Meaning that it should not be in the Iron Curtain at all. The only reason it is currently (partially) in the Iron Curtain is because it represents Yugoslavia as a Communist nation. I agree (if that is your opinion) that Yugoslavia should be marked as gray (or another color?) since it was open to both the East and the West. Yugoslavia was more western than eastern in my opinion. Good Changes[edit]

I like the changes you made to the article Flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I created most of the article for the English Wikipedia. I was the first to add the flag proposals for the Bosnian flag change. I do have a question, however. Does Wikipedia uses English English or American English. I noticed some of the changes are:

  • center to centre
  • color to colour

These are not used in America and I am wondering which English style Wikipedia uses. Kseferovic 02:21, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Montenegrin language alphabet[edit]

OK, you are really pissing me off big time!!!!!. Look, have you ever checked www.montenegro.org/language.html. There, you will get a better meaning that that picture of the original montenegro alphabet was the ORIGINAL ALPHABET!!!!!, not the PROPOSED ALPHABET!!!!!!. And besides, Vuk Stefanović Karadžić changed the Serbian, Croatian, and Montenegrin Alphabets to have the same letters and the same number of alphabets.

Serbian language[edit]

I know that, but I've been talking at irc and the Czech wikipedians were saying that they like more the Croatian language than the Serbian language because it uses the Latin scrypt. The Latin scrypt is (almost) completly equal in the Serbian language, unlike in the Bosnian language, where it's official too, but the Latin scrypt is greatly overwhealming. I think that, seeing that both scrypts are official, makes it a little more democratic language. And what about people like me, who learned the cyrillic scrypt very late (only recently). would you then say that I have no knowlegde of the Serbian language (since I didn't know one of its two scrypts)?

Memorandum[edit]

Estavisti: your attempts at cleaning up the "Memorandum" article were, I think, over-aggressive. One of your requests for a citation was rendered unnecessary by the paragraph laying out the varied ideas and focuses of the authors. You removed a mundane reference to it being considered nationalistic, which it was, universally. There is no point of view problem in stating a fact, and it is not a fact that requires any particular citation. I'm fine with some of your edits, but the ones I edited back were sort of odd. Why demand citations for the obvious? Why cut reference to the Memorandum's reputation as a nationalist document? Profnjm 02:26, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The difference is that today, the Cyrillic scrypt isn't in usage in Croatian, nor is it official. However, in the Serbian language it is in usage and is official at the same time (so you can't use that historical comparation). I'm on the #wikipedia-sr channal sometimes. Did you mean that Channal? License tagging for Image:Eng bg grb.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Eng bg grb.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hey[edit]

Hey, I looked at the redirect of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and was wondering if we could do something about it. There should be a seperate article since they are not the same "things." Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina existed from 1991 to 1998. Now it is called Bosnia and Herzeogivna. I think there could be two seperate articles, since there were/are differences in the politics, economics, etc. of the two countries.

PoV-tag warrior[edit]

You know, I'm getting a bit annoyed over your overuse of {{pov}} and family. As soon as you see something you don't like in the article (or even something that someone else might not like, as was the case in Montenegrins recently), you use the PoV tag. I don't see it as a constructive move—how are other editors even supposed to know what your concerns are if all you leave is a brief edit summary like "I don't like it" (with unwritten but understood "but I'm currently lazy to do anything about it"). The tool does not work currently, but browsing through your recent contributions I see very little edits in Article Talk namespace—but how are other people to know what you're dissatisfied with if you are not willing to discuss it? Duja 15:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC) (P.S. Reply here if you prefer).[reply]

Re Karadjordjevic: you should have also put the tags onto the talk page; I couldn't have known that the entry already existed unless I scrolled entire list. I'll remove one from WP:RM. (P.S. You should vote now.) Duja 11:55, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Re PoV tags: I understand your frustration, but I don't think you're helping any cause by putting them. If people have made certain effort in writing the article (your objections regardless), you're at least supposed to spend certain effort by writing what you disagree with. May I remind you to Wikipedia:Assume Good Faith? I'm not accusing you of assuming bad faith, but one could read your actions like that. Duja 11:50, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks[edit]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. For attacking with words like you did you can get blocked, use a civilized way to make your point. Anyone can rise a suspicion here, due to the intensity of revert wars. Thank you, ilir_pz 23:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Without having looked into the natured of the "provocation" you feel Ilir might have subjected you to, I won't seek to comment on the whys and wherefores; but nothing could justify the incivility you've responded with. Personally I find making objectionable comments on the basis of someone's ethnicity much more unpleasant than merely "personal" attacks, and I would urge you in the strong possible terms to refrain from such in future, and to conduct yourself in a civil manner. Archive[edit]

Ilir, this would be pathetic enough if you were from a rich country and insulting Serbia about its economic state. However, you are Albanian and, true to form, the pathetic, frustrated, powerless, Schadenfreude that shines through everything you write relating to Serbia is not absent here. I've been to Albania, the country where shopkeepers sit in the dark in the evening and only switch on the generator when customers come in to save money. Not because there's a power cut (though those are frequent), but because the electricity grid hasn't reached their part of the country. The European country (shocking, isn't it?) where people herd their cattle down the A-roads. So I suggest you focus your energies and intelligence (you must have had some to get that MSc.) on improving your own country instead of lashing out at a more successful one. Now you're going to say that this is a personal attack, unprovoked, blah blah blah, you're such a poor victim. You've been provoking all of us with your crap, what did you expect? --estavisti 23:23, 29 May 2006 (UTC) Original [1][reply]

Yet again: Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you.

Re: Serbian culture[edit]

Because Serbian culture and Culture of Serbia would overlap in so big extent that it would be extremely difficult to distinguish and maintain the two. You seem to have found out a rare example where two articles exist -- even then, German culture is barely over a stub or disambiguation page. Irish culture, French culture etc. are redirect to Culture of Ireland and Culture of France. Russian culture/Culture of Russia, as a more similar situation to ours, follow the German example. As I said, you're theoretically right that two terms are not the same, but I simply think it's more practical (if not ideal) to maintain the current situation with one article (at least for the time being). Serbophobia - 2[edit]

1. "Yugoslavia was dominated by the Serbian nation" - okay, how should I put it? The capital was Belgrade, the dynasty was Karađorđevići, the Serbs were in the majority, many or most Croats didn't even want to be in it in the first place. There must be some way to express that in a single phrase. During the revert war last spring, a similar sentence was found in the version to which the Serbian side was reverting, starting from this diff and ending with this one: "Among those three nations Serbs have had far outnumbered other two nations, had far strongest political power and had their dinasty Karadjordjevici for a Yugoslavias rulers."

2. References for shkije/nigger. It would be very easy to find references for nigger if these were requested (and of course, any English-speaking person knows about nigger, while few know about shkije, and they can't just take somebody's word for it). In May, I had no problem finding sources for vlah and chetnik [2], when these were requested. It's just a matter of making a slight effort.

3. Ante Starcevic calling the Serbs "subhuman" - reading the article about him, I don't see a proof of that. According to the current text of that article, he used the term Slavosrb mostly in a political sense, referring to his Croatian opponents who were adherents of South Slavic unity. The article does mention that he ridiculed the Serbs, (for which he was criticised by some of his own supporters), but not that he "viewed them as subhuman". So, until a source of some sort is provided, I think the word "subhuman" is too strong. --194.145.161.227 11:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Serb and Serbian[edit]

(Apart from our other differences in opinion) I don't think you're right regarding the meaning and scope of "Serb" and "Serbian" in English. Quote (American Heritage Dictionary):

Ser·bi·an (sûr“b¶-…n) n. 1. A native or inhabitant of Serbia; a Serb.
Serb (sûrb) n. A member of a southern Slavic people that is the principal ethnic group of Serbia

I understand that it is ambiguous and needs to be resolved in several contexts. However, "Serb" can seldom function as an adjective; your changes to "Serb Orthodox Church" seem futile when even its own site translates it as "Serbian Orthodox Church". So, please, use "Serb" as adjective more sparely, and only when a disambiguation is absolutely necessary and cannot be established from context. Also, there's always Serbs' as an adjective. (Reply here if you prefer). Duja 08:41, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Grb Karadjordjevica.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Grb Karadjordjevica.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Durin 17:02, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Undoing disambiguation[edit]

In this edit. Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links. From that page "Ideally, Wikipedia articles should not link to disambiguation pages (with rare exceptions where the ambiguity of a term is being discussed); instead links should go directly to the appropriate article.". Both Bosnian and Serbian are disambiguation pages, and should not be directly linked to. Please do not undo any more disambiguation work. -- Jeff3000 22:56, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Popraviću to. PANONIAN (talk) 20:02, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Republika Srpska article[edit]

Please refrain from removing content from Wikipedia, as you did to Republika Srpska. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. I know it's a controversial article, but try to keep your cool and discuss major changes at the talk page first. Cordless Larry 01:17, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Independent Republic of Vojvodina[edit]

Good afternoon my friend! I knew that someone will want to delete my article. You are biased to .(Kosovo je Srpsko) This question exists in Vojvodina. I have citations(external links) about it. I'll wrote them down. Sorry I want to wrote 5-6%, I will correct it. You can corrert the article to if you think that I wasn't objective enough. But I think the article should't be deleted maybe repaired. HunTheGoaT 17:25, 28 September 2006 (CEST)

Nikola Tesla[edit]

I reverted it because it's a biographical page and information regarding his birthplace and citizenship is relevant and should be linked. Putting that information in the lead-in text of the article is common practice. Sparkhead 01:06, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree...just like Röntgen was a German physicist, Thomas Edison was an American inventor, and Leonardo was an Italian everything...ethnicity is in most cases included in the opening paragraph of bio's. --Onorem 05:21, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note: WP:3RR. Do not revert the article again. Thanks. Sparkhead 01:16, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template Serbs[edit]

You reverted my last edit without any explanation. My I ask you why?--Matt Parlow 16:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because you're deleting half the article and have explicitly refused a discussion, deeming yourself above your intelocutor. That's vandalism, basically. --estavisti 16:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I quite clearly described what I removed and why. Yes, I am above any ignorant and if anyone wants to discuss the issue - (s)he shall be knowleadge about this subject. Better learn basic things about this Porphyrogenitus work and then talk about vandalism--Matt Parlow 17:25, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BiH Maps[edit]

Znam da si vise za drugu verziju mape (ona sa kordi.) ali ipak mislim da bi trebala korisiti ovu Image:BosanskaKostajnica Municipality Location.png (with resepct to the county names) zato sto svaka drzava ima ovaj sistem mapa. Tesla Serbian-American[edit]

I believe you changed the nationality to Serb-American. There needs to be "ian" after Serb so both nationalities end in "n." It just sounds wrong or awkward otherwise. I checked Google and for Tesla "Serb-American" there were only 165 hits, but for Tesla "Serbian-American" there were 995 hits. Can you live with Tesla being described as "Serbian-American?"Edison 03:31, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, "Greek-American" is common in Google but "Grecian-American" is rare. Contrariwise, "Turkish-American" is common but "Turk-American" is rare. "British-American" is common but "Brit-American" is rare. "Croatian-American" is common but "Croat-American" is rare. The article has a very short halflife for nationality statements in any event, so you might as well leave it per your edit. I had only a stylistic objection and not one based on national feeling. By the way, you said ""Serbian" refers to people from Serbia, regardless of whether they are Serbs, Hungarians etc." But Tesla was born in Lika, Austro-Hungarian Military Frontier, per his first American patent. Food for thought.Edison 03:51, 6 October 2006 (UTC) Would that make him "an Austro-Hungarian-American Serb"?Edison 04:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you dislike Am-E?[edit]

Serbianisation[edit]

I see you deleted my effort on this page which I have just now restored. I would prefer it to stay there until we have discussed it. I may be British but I have had business down the years in the Balkans so I do know a few things about the recent history. My key point was that Serbianisation - or if you like, Yugoslavianisation with Serbian influence - did affect Macedonia and Montenegro. In 1998 I interviewed an old woman who went to school before world war II, and received a slap on the face from the teacher for saying "Dobar den" instead of "dan", this happened in Krushevo, Macedonia (now). This clearly affected not only Macedonia but the Torlakian areas too, as for Montenegro, they too always spoke in their own dialects amounting to language but todays Montenegrin is totally transformed and only remnants of the earlier register remain. Speak to any older Montenegrin and he will tell you the same. As for the military, there was NO talking in Macedonian/Montenegrin (nor did there exist Macedonian standard yet) during the inbetween-war period. These small things did have an effect on the culture and would have if successful made modern Macedonians and Montenegrins totally Serbian. If it lasted longer I meant. 3rr warning[edit]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Bosnian War. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Duja 12:00, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hahahihoho warned too. See the Talk:Bosnian War. Duja 12:00, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Sorry, I have to better learn counting to 4. It was more a matter of courtesy towards Hahahihihoho, and I didn't mean to apply punitive measures for 3RR anyway. His further "courtesy" towards myself in return ended up by an infinite block. So, I'm scratching the warning. Consider the matter settled. Duja 14:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

  • 1. Plandište Dakle, Plandište nije grad već selo, i ovde nikako ne možemo napisati "highlighting the town location".
