Speedy deletion of Publications by the Matthew Marks Gallery

A tag has been placed on Publications by the Matthew Marks Gallery requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Hello, I am known Gears of War, I am a part of Wikipedia and I would like to welcome you to Wikipedia, here is some stuff you should know and some links to follow.

Matthew Marks Gallery

A general standard for Wiki lists is to include only names that are notable, and notability is usually established by having a Wiki article written about that person. This is because Wiki is an encyclopedia - not a white pages directory of every person who may have exhibited at a particular gallery. Because you indicated that you were working towards articles on the names you repeatedly inserted in this article, I waited a week before removing the names without articles. If you need to keep the full list somewhere, you can keep it on the article's talk page, on your user page, or on your own hard drive - there is no need to keep reinserting the names in the article. Three Revert Rule

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. This file was provided with two non-free use rationales: one for the article about the photographers Inez and Vinoodh and one for the more general article Fashion Photography. The file is no longer being used in the biography about the photographers; so, it's only current non-free use is in Fashion Photography#History and it's this use that doesn't really comply with WP:NFCC#8. The file appears to have been added as an example of "modern fashion photography" (at least that's what the captions states), but there is no critical commentary anywhere at all about this particular photo to support it's inclusion per WP:NFC#CS and there's no commentary about either of the two photographers as well; so, there's really nothing at all that contextually connects this particular photo to fashion photography except that it's one possible example of such photography. This seems to be a text-book case of WP:DECORATIVE and WP:FREER non-free use because there are probably freely licensed equivalent photographs which can be used to serve the same purpose of illustrating a single example instead of this particular non-free one. If someone wants to try and figure out a way to add this to the aritcle about the two photographers in a way that meets WP:NFCCP, then perhaps the file doesn't need to be deleted; regardless whether that happens, there's no real justification for the continued non-free use of the file in the more general article about fashion photography.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
