Wikipedia:Non-free content policy and guideline

Please do not place or replace non-free images in articles as you have done with File:Hezbollah Flag.jpg into Fajr-5. Such use is a clear violation of WP:NFCC#8 and 10c. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:16, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Rif Damishq subdivisions-Ar.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Rif Damishq subdivisions-Ar.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

New regions in Iran

Ethnic numbers

Please do not change ethnic population and percentage numbers, as you did with this edit to the West Azerbaijan Province article, without (1) having a reliable source and (2) discussing it on the talk page of the article. Ethnicity is a very touchy subject. Ethnic data is inherently controversial. (WikiProject Ethnic groups says: "Let's be clear: ethnicity is a minefield.") "All material that is challenged or likely to be challenged needs a source." The ethnic data in the West Azerbaijan Province article was cited to sources. If you believe that you have a better, higher quality, source, then you need to present your arguments in favor of the change on the article's talk page. If you believe that a cited source is not a reliable source, challenge it on the talk page, do not just remove it. The reliability of sources is discussed at the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. If you have a question about this, please feel free to ask me about it on my talk page. The numbers I wrote for the ethnic groups of West Azerbaijan Province were taken directly from Persian Wikipedia page for the province, which uses the same source, but has different numbers. My personal opinion was that the numbers in English wikipedia are altered and do not match the source. Haghal Jagul (talk) 17:47, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

You are correct, there was vandalism. The numbers 76.2% and 21.7 were originally added at the same time with those citations with this edit by Hochvoltag on 21:30, 30 July 2013. The incorrect numbers were added at 09:07, 19 May 2014, by IP editor 2.177.28.52 with this edit, who was attempting to correct the mess made by IP editor 79.97.186.55 on 18 May 2014 with this series of edits. But the point about ethnic edits is still valid, don't make changes to ethnic data without providing the evidence.
