Welcome![edit]

Hello, Hal025, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Center for the blue economy moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Center for the blue economy, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I hope this is not too discouraging, and I understand you want to help your students edit Wikipedia, but, to be perfectly honest; you need help. The article you created about the CBE is not ready for publication in the encyclopedia. I would strongly recommend (and this applies to your students as well) that you start with sources. This article is probably a good read to get you started. Good luck, and please ask for help. --Vexations (talk) 23:06, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hal025, adding a note here because the "ping" system sometimes fails. Vexations moved your article to draft space. You then moved a later creation on the same topic, User:Rcastillorodriguez/sandbox, to mainspace as Center for the Blue Economy. It was not ready for mainspace either, and got nominated for speedy deletion by Drmies, an administrator. I've moved it back to its original location and removed the speedy template. Why did you move it? Did you get confused between it and your own article? What both of them most need is (a) references and (b) rewriting to be fully neutral in tone. But we don't need two. What's going on? Yngvadottir (talk) 02:26, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Question about the sidebar of Blue economy[edit]

Dear Hal025, about this sidebar you say: "the Economics sidebar template you have created with lacking description". I did not really create this sidebar. I took it from other page and I did not realize it lacked description. Observing pages of related concepts, like Green economy (environmental economics sidebar) or Circular economy (no sidebar), I thought that Blue economy should have a framing sidebar. The Economics sidebar seemed adequate to me. Alvarosinde (talk) 11:08, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notes[edit]

Hi! I wanted to give some feedback on the current state of the draft (October 19).

Firstly, I would definitely not move the page until the issues have been resolved, as otherwise this will just get moved back or deleted.

The main issue here is that this really, really needs additional sourcing to establish notability, as this center is not inherently notable because it is part of a notable educational institution. There are three sources in the article, one of which is local - local sources tend to be greatly depreciated on Wikipedia because local papers are more likely to cover local events, persons, or things. At present it looks like it would be better to summarize this more and add to the section on the Center at Middlebury_Institute_of_International_Studies_at_Monterey#Research_centers_and_initiatives, if there aren't more sources out there. Hello, Hal025. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Center for the blue economy".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Lapablo (talk) 20:11, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
