Blue Jays

Baseball America is not a blog (it is a very good source since they list all of the team's farm rankings); the minor league transactions were one. You see the BlueJays.com doesn't list those transactions because they are not significant. At the end of the year (when the team is done playing) all of the players on the 40-man get called up. They really don't (because they is no distinction between the 40-man and active roster in the offseason) and that is why BlueJays.com has not listed them. They have not switched over from the active to 40-man yet, but will when they start signing non-roster invitees. So that is why I am switching over all rosters from MLB roster to MLB Spring Training roster; because they have to be done some time and now is an opportunity that I have, so thats I was switching now. No, no, no. I agree with you. The reason why I did it now was because I had some free time. It takes a long time to convert the regular season rosters to spring training rosters, and I did not know if anybody else would help. I know that the 2009 season is not over, but the Blue Jays is and since I had some free time and the players on the 40-man get recalled at the end of the season I went ahead and did it. The transctions are minor league ones, so you would have to look on MiLB.com too see those because the 2009 minor league season is over and minor leaguers are declaring free agency. That is why teams are outrighting players to the minors and recalling them because the rosters get frozen in November. Ositadinma 01:09, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

It's not patronizing, I was explaining the reason and my reason why I made the contrib. If you look at my contribs you see that I edit the rosters alot too. I agree, like I said it takes some time to convert the rosters and I had some free time. What inspired me was some IP changed the Mets roster with that blog as a source. I knew it was to early but since there is not on contributer on wiki (JustSomeRandomGuy32 retired) that I can trust 100% with the MLB rosters, I decided to change some of them because I had the time even though I knew they were to early. Plus changing them now means that the teams' season is over and perparing for 2010. Thats why I went ahead with my plan. I understand were you are coming from. It is alright, alot of editors do use sarcasm, but it is hard to tell the difference between sarcasm and what you really meant to say on a computer. There is not tone a voice which makes the difference between the two. Ositadinma 01:24, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Changes are already happening; like players geting called up or outrightd. Just see MiLB.com transactions (They are more detailed than MLB.coms'). More people edit navboxes beacuse they are easier to sort than the templates because most people are better with their numbers than alphabate. Noooo, those are from 2007 if you did not notice, but again it is from Baseball America. The transactions I have are a blog; yes, but the blog is opperated by the staff of the website. So there is no false info. Ositadinma 01:40, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Here is a source. It only lists outrights and minor league players declaring free agency, but after the World Series players will be (or already have been) called up because in November the rosters are frozen and no players can be called up because of the Rule 5 draft in mid December. Those transactions are only for one conference, you have to follow the links on that links to get to the others. Ositadinma 01:49, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Also it is assumed that at the end of the season players on the 40-man and the active roster combine to make the actual 40-man. They are being called up, but MLB.com or MiLB.ocm may not list those transactions for you. So you have to dig for it like Baseball America which has all of the minor league transactions. One teams start signing NRIs, the teams will only list the 40-man instead of the active and 40-man rosters like they did in previous years. Thought you should know. MLB rosters

Good news. Some teams have listed the 40-man call-ups in the transactions page. Like I said the rosters merge at the end of the season, but I will wait to tranfer the rosters over until the WS is over. The teams still have active and 40-man links, but that will change when the teams start signing NRIs. Thought you should know. Ositadinma 21:27, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Navboxes

What it means is that the roster navboxes are not going to be placed on the NRI players' (players getting invited to camp) article pages, but I still would like to have them in the navbox to see who gets inviteed to camp. Ositadinma 01:40, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

No, don't add navboxes to NRI's. I put the NRI's on the navbox because they are on the roster so I thought why not just put them on the navboxes as well. Also why I forgot, was that NRI players are players with minor league deals and not part of major league club, but affiliated. Ositadinma 01:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

"since it wasn't vandalism there was no real harm" - this is untrue. Biographies of living people are subject to much more stringent rules than other articles. As with any BLP that I have on my watchlist, I revert vigorously unless references are provided. When references are provided, I always verify them. That is the reason for the revert. As for the edit summary, the likelihood is low that an IP/anon editor will bother to view the article's history, and many new redlink editors are basically anons because they join, make one or two minor changes, and depart, the same as IPs. If you check my edit history going back to when I joined this site, you will see that I was once that sporadic editor who joined, made a few minor edits, and disappeared as well, and I never took offense when someone changed or deleted my work, because every time we click the "save" button, we release our contributions under CC-BY-SA and GFDL, which I take very seriously. There was a consensus. A while ago the user:Gjr rodriguez created a bunch of minor league players. They were all reviewed and it was agreed to at WP:Baseball that most of them were non notable. Some of those players he created were much more notable than the ones you did and were deleted. First-round draft picks

Brian, I just wanted to make you aware that there is a prior consensus to delete first-round draft pick templates and the like if they don't have an appropriate lead article accompanying them (a la List of Philadelphia Phillies first-round draft picks). I did nominate a similar template for players from Toronto for deletion yesterday, but the creator went ahead and made a list as a lead article. I have to say that you American League guys are really lucky... you have all these Keith Allison pictures to illustrate your articles... Your right about the speculation, but when you pay someone close to forty million I think that he would have his choice of numbers, in these case he is taking Wilson's #9, even if Wilson doesn't like it.
