I don't know if you noticed, but there are some good remarks from Rob Ketcherside at Talk:Pacific Northwest League. Rob usually knows whereof he speaks. I'd be (so to speak) totally out of my league editing that article, but I'm hoping you can take a look, since it appears to be mostly yours. - Jmabel | Talk 04:40, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Notice

The article Charley Parks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Former basketball player with one season is not notable. This is just an indiscriminate listing of all-things-basketball. The one event was not significant.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited WCW Power Plant, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Deposition and Brett Hart (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Gorman Weeks or Weeks Gorman

Who are they, and all your references to this don't supply a book title. If source is on kindle, it has a title. The title should be in the references?...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 10:40, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

I see where you have it now. Weeks and Gorman are separate last names. When looking at the article this morning, I was trying to find Weeks not Gorman. Cheers....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:56, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:WCW Power Plant logo 1997.png

Thank you for uploading File:WCW Power Plant logo 1997.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

  • Regarding John Katan he was definitely a top star in Canada and New Zealand during the 1930s-1940s and all three titles were considered major championships during the "Pioneer-era" (1900s-1940s). There are thousands of news articles in non-U.S. sources at BAnQ numérique (Montreal), Trove (Australia) and Papers Past (New Zealand). And a number of public domain photos are available too: [1] [2] [3]. Hope this is helpful. 173.162.220.17 (talk) 20:00, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
  • Edit: I can't seem to post the urls so I de-linked them. Seems to be working now. 173.162.220.17 (talk) 20:00, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

Copyright question

Hi Brian. I saw that you've uploaded photos from pro wrestling magazines (e.g. File:Eddie Gilbert vs Bill Dundee.jpeg) and had a question about public domain. I've been adding images to Big Time Wrestling (Boston) and was hoping to find a photo or advertisement for BTW's "soundalike" wrestlers. Does Template:PD-US-no notice apply to either of these images?

It doesn't look like there's a copyright notice on either and The Body Press was distributed to the public specifically to promote the "soundalike" wrestlers. Any chance the Body Press issue (or at least these images: [4] [5]) are public domain? It seems like it would fall under studio publicity photos like File:Grant, Cary (Suspicion) 01 Crisco edit.jpg or File:Katharine Hepburn promo pic.jpg

Thanks. 173.162.220.17 (talk) 17:57, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Advice for another WP:AFC article?

Sorry to bother you again Brian but would you mind taking a look at Draft:International Championship Wrestling (Mississippi)? I've removed content every time I've resubmitted but it keeps getting rejected. This version was based on advice from User:Grapple X who's written several GA-class wrestling articles. At 66,494 bytes, it's significantly shorter compared to my other articles, Big Time Wrestling (Boston) (74,164 bytes) and Superstars of Wrestling (Canadian TV series) (81,144 bytes). I'm not sure what else to cut out at this point.

The CulkinPromotions.com / Facebook / WrestlingClassics citations are to direct quotes and statements from ICW co-owner Gil Culkin and heel managers Percy Pringle and Izzy Slapowitz. Doesn't WP:Primary apply since it's for non-controversial info? I'd normally avoid using Facebook but I haven't been able to find many print sources to replace them. Am I better off just removing all the Facebook links and the "Mississippi Wrestling Memories" section altogether? Thanks again. 173.162.220.17 (talk) 19:43, 25 January 2023 (UTC)

Hey,

Thanks for uploading the image of Parsons. I was working on expanding his article a few weeks ago, and felt it unfortunate there were no images of him. I, myself, am not familiar with the creation/copyright process.

Best wishes.
