Bondi Rescue lifeguard list

Hi Happily888. As you are a major contributor to the Bondi Rescue page, I just wanted to run something by you. What do you think about cutting back the Bondi Rescue lifeguard list to only those listed here? At the moment, the list is a clunky, unsourced mess in my opinion. Perhaps we could have a "current lifeguards" list and a notable "former lifeguards" list, such as Corey Adams and Matt Burke. Thoughts? DaHuzyBru (talk) 11:28, 9 March 2019 (UTC)


Hi @DaHuzyBru: I feel that this would be a great idea but the lifeguard list on the website hasn't been updated in some time and there are a number of frequent lifeguards that should still be in the 'current lifeguards' list that aren't on the website. In my opinion I think that we should have the notable "former lifeguards" section (which should include transfers from other countries and lifeguards who have a background in other occupations) but the "current lifeguards" section needs to be regularly updated, and not merely from that website, so I feel more sources are needed.

In the mean time, it would be great if 'less notable' lifeguards that aren't household names or update their public profile frequently anymore should be removed from the list (that is, they don't frequently appear on shows or social media). I agree that there needs to be much more organisation on the list but I am unsure of how to determine which lifeguards continue to frequent the beach as not all lifeguards frequent the show, although many of them do appear at times, and should all receive recognition. I will try to find out which lifeguards on the lists have left Bondi that may still be on the current lifeguards' list. Thanks, Happily888 (talk) 12:16, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

  • Contrary to your assertion in this edit summary, the majority of other TV Show infoboxes do not have dates as the infobox instructions clearly state that the field, quite clearly called num_episodes, not num_episodes_and_date_the_field_was_last_updated, is for "The number of episodes released." Many articles do have dates but these are commented out in order to comply with the infobox instructions. When comment tags do not exist it is primarily in Indian and Australian articles where editors seem to delight in ignoring infobox instructions. Incorrect use of fields in a few articles (there are 46,582 articles using the infobox) is not justification for ignoring instructions in other articles. --AussieLegend (✉) 07:51, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Please also check edit histories before reverting earlier changes. This edit summary clearly states "rmv deprecated parameter from template" in reference to removing "|2" from {{reflist|2}}. "2" is a deprecated parameter and should not be uused which is why it was removed. It should not have been restored. Please do not create categories that should not exist, as you did with Category:2020 Australian television seasons. The inclusion criteria for that and similar categories is "Australian television seasons that have aired at least one episode in the year 2020." 2020 television season categories

As should be obvious from the text in {{Year nationality television seasons category}}, the 2020 television season categories are for "television seasons that have aired at least one episode in the year 2020" (note the use of past tense!). Until such time as episodes have aired in 2020, articles should not be added to 2020 categories.
