Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kxiplogo-721995.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kxiplogo-721995.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dog picture[edit]

The picture is cute, but it's not really encyclopedic and appropriate for the Dog page. It'd be fine to add to your user page (for now I've added it for you; you can remove it if you wish). OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:52, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IPL Team Names and Logos.[edit]

I have reverted your additions. There is significant disagreement over how that information should be surfaced. So, instead of pushing for how you want the article to look like, please join in the discussion so that we can figure out the consensus. Thanks. --soum talk 18:12, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TOC template[edit]

What you request is simply impossible on more than an article-to-article basis. Besides, that format would be impossible to work with the hide/show system (and I think that design is outright impossible to code anyway). In the case of UEFA Euro 2008 I'd consider {{TOClimit|limit=3}}. Circeus (talk) 17:10, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You'd have to get down into the Wikipedia source code for how articles are formatted and I have absolutely no clue about that. I only steal other people's templates and adapt them to whatever I need. Sorry. -- VegitaU (talk) 17:17, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: Try asking the help desk. -- VegitaU (talk) 17:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The format you are requesting needs to be coded in the MediaWiki software itself, and can't be done with templates or anything. Try filing a BugZilla feature request. Meanwhile, an ugly hack would be {{TwoColumnTOC}}. --soum talk 04:02, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Have you tried the two column template discussed here... he apparently wrote that per your request. If it works, use it so others will see it. Another solution maybe my Template:TOCnestright(edit talk links history) -- you can see it's been used enough to be "successful" and "accepted". If there were rendering problems with right float elements (normally multiple's of infoboxes and images) surround the right floats with the boundary formed in Template:FixHTML(edit talk links history) (Most times you don't need {{FixHTML|mid}}'s at all). Good luck. // FrankB 18:37, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Show-hide box[edit]

I reverted it because it looks terrible and there is no need to hide the info. – PeeJay 11:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The tie-breaking criteria are important to have at the top of the section, as it allows the reader to see how teams level on points are ranked (not that it's done much good so far). Please discuss this on the article's talk page. – PeeJay 11:22, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Barnala club building.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Barnala club building.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:15, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Lawntennis barnala club.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lawntennis barnala club.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 05:43, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Maruti Suzuki Swift requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
