Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Duolingo, you may be blocked from editing. --TuomoS (talk) 09:52, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Materialscientist and TuomoS, I've reviewed the edits in question, and in my opinion, they are not vandalism, which is a malicious intent to deface or damage Wikipedia. The edits appear to have been made in good-faith attempts to improve Wikipedia, and we should be careful not to bite newcomers. Nevertheless, the edits may have been unintentionally disruptive, and Hassan Hassoon continued to make them despite receiving your warnings. Please see the comment and final warning below, thanks. --IamNotU (talk) 15:15, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Hi Hassan Hassoon, welcome and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. There are some problems with your edits though. Some other people saw that too, and left you messages above. The main problem is where you are adding Arabic names and links to the Arabic Wikipedia, where they are not appropriate. I don't think this is vandalism, and I understand that you're trying to improve coverage of topics related to Sudan. But it may be considered disruptive. Since you have already received three warnings about this, which you have ignored, please consider this your final warning. If you don't stop, you may be blocked from editing without further warning.

There is a Manual of Style that editors should normally follow. Because this is the English Wikipedia, we don't put foreign languages in the first sentence of an article unless the subject of the article is closely associated with that language. For example, we do put the Arabic translation of Sudan, but not Adobe Flash Player.

You've made many edits with the summary "Connect the English page to Arabic". Please stop putting URL links to the Arabic Wikipedia into the Arabic language template "links" field. That field must be only "yes" or "no". See the documentation. Generally, inline links to foreign-language Wikipedia articles should only be used in limited cases, when English Wikipedia does not have an article on the subject. Otherwise links to the same article are placed in the left sidebar, not directly in the article.

Please see also the Manual of Style page about linking. For example, we don't normally link dates or years, common words or major countries, etc. Red links to articles that don't exist should not be created unless there is clear evidence that Wikipedia should have such an article; the subject must meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. Please don't create links that lead to unexpected targets, like you did here: [1].

Finally, please try to leave a descriptive edit summary that explains what you've done. Summaries such as "article update" or "add data" are not very informative. Thanks for your understanding.

If you need help editing, a good place to ask questions is at the Wikipedia Teahouse. --IamNotU (talk) 13:52, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
