Granted, the first time was vandalism. But all I was trying to do after that was correct something that was wrong. 'Tonne' is pronounced 'ton' in the UK. I live here and I have never - AND I MEAN NEVER - heard ANYONE say 'tonneh'. This is a falsehood and I was making the page truthful. Also, I was given a warning that I would be blocked if I made any more 'disruptive' edits. I did not make ANY more edits and then I was blocked. And I think you'l find that my final edit was keeping in terms with the article and was in no way offensive, nor was it vandalism. It was simply true. Decline reason:

You were removing reliably referenced information, and acted combative when confronted about your edits here. While your personal experience may disagree with the information in the article, we have reliable sources (one of them arguably one of the most reliable when it comes to pronunciation and definition of words, the OED) to back that information up. Wikipedia's goal is verifiability, something which is much easier to attain than universal truth. Keep in mind also that unless you've personally heard everyone in the UK say the word "tonne", you cannot extrapolate your experience to the entire country. The UK, much like the US and many other countries, has a number of more localized dialects and/or accents that may pronounce words differently. If you disagree with something in an article, especially when the information is supported by a reference, you should discuss with other editors the issue, find a reliable source to back up your view, and together come to a consensus on how to proceed.

In any event, this unblock request - and your attempts to fake acceptance as noted below - do not convince me that you will not continue to edit unconstructively. I would encourage you to consider what I've said, read through the various pages I've linked to, and try to understand how Wikipedia functions before appealing again. I also live in the UK and concur with your comment regarding pronunciation, although looking at the edit in question it seems to me to suggest that the "e" is not pronounced. Had you not inserted a spurious unblock acceptance template, which is deleted but remains accessible, I would have been minded to urge unblock. I too agree that this editor may have a point but has gone about it in entirely the wrong way. I am going to open a thread on the article talk page, perhaps Henrytheantman will join in when he is unblocked. Hah hah hah haaah. I made spelling errors because I was really, really, really angry and was typing quickly. That's just petty to correct them. And I'm not actually new. I just haven't had an account in years. I know fine well the protocol for editing Wikipedia, I was just making mischief because Wikipedians are a bunch of anally retentive weirdos who seem to think keeping this correct is the be all and end all to the safety of the planet. Also, don't talk on MY OWN TALK PAGE about me as if it's not MY OWN TALK PAGE. And my name isn't Henry. The account name is just a reference to the Marvel character Henry Pym. Look, I don't even care any more. People need to a) lighten up and b) accept that someone who LIVES IN THE COUNTRY knows how things are pronounced there. And accept that my change to the article wasn't actually vandalism when I got round to changing it properly.
