Welcome to Wikipedia, Herculesmulligan84! Thank you for your contributions. I am Menaechmi and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{help me}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! menaechmi (talk) 01:02, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'd like to suggest that instead of creating a page in the state of Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, why not work on the draft at Draft:Delaware Valley Arts Alliance? It has a clear guidance of what you might be able to do to fix it, and starting a draft in the article space can lead to them being summarily deleted. menaechmi (talk) 01:04, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm still confused about how to create a draft vs. creating an actual page. Herculesmulligan84 (talk) 01:05, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! One reason that might be is because a draft already existed for Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, in that case, you can just be bold, and start editing it. What you did is perfectly fine, and you might be able to incorporate some of the information into the article you made. I just get worried because some editors get heavy handed when it comes to deletion, and I wouldn't want someone to think this place wasn't welcoming. :) menaechmi (talk) 01:50, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help. I'm so scared of Wikipedia. I really appreciate your guidance. Herculesmulligan84 (talk) 02:26, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I did it again! I thought I was creating a draft, but I actually started a "real" page. What am I doing wrong? How do I create a draft first? Thank you so much for your help. Herculesmulligan84 (talk) 04:59, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I'm on UTC -04:00 time, so I was asleep when you ran into this issue. I hadn't thought about it, but you're 100% correct it is way too difficult to start a draft (there is no option to do it from the mainspace).
The only real definite way I could figure it out it by visiting Wikipedia:Drafts#Creating_and_editing_drafts and then entering the draft you'd like to create in the box. It will also submit your draft for WP:Articles for creation, where an experienced editor will be able to give you some advice on what the article needs.
You can also use your sandbox at Special:MyPage/sandbox which will let you create it (it has some problems like you can only do one at a time, and you will have to move it to a different page to start a new one.
Another option would be to create drafts in your user space, for example User:Herculesmulligan84/Karin Giusti (you would just need to change the name depending on who you were writing on.
Most super importantly: Please don't be scared, instead be be bold. There are always people willing to help, and because one of our policies is to ignore all rules there is very little you can do (assuming you don't try to violate the five pillars on purpose) that anyone can be "mad" at you for. I might recommend visiting the teahouse, because they are super nice there and always willing to lend a hand. menaechmi (talk) 13:58, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much again. I'm so inspired to keep going. I will try out your suggestions when creating my next draft. Onward! Herculesmulligan84 (talk) 14:14, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this. It's actually a bit early for a review, because the article isn't quite ready, but I am convinced that the subject is notable, and I would like to commend you for starting with gathering sources first. Please continue to expand the article, and let me know if you require assistance.
